  1. Body Language was the first album I got, based entirely on the strength of the lead single, "Slow". I was surprised how much I liked all the other tracks, especially Red Blooded Woman and Chocolate, but it's distilled pure pop perfection as far as I am concerned. I think I have all of the post pre Michael Hutchence albums (so 1989 onwards? I may have to double check...), since many of them were reissued in 2CD packs several years ago. You may also want to check out Anniemal, it kind of hits me the same way.
  2. Yeezh. Condolences, dude, we're here to listen if you want to vent or just think out loud or anything.
  3. Ah, okay, so the delay is because there's human intervention, and is on the human's part. Thanks for explaining.
  4. Do it. My mom was real bad towards the end, and we did nothing (mostly because I had no control over my mother whatsoever). Fortunately, nothing as bad as driving through a retaining wall happened, much less much worse, but I still regret not putting my foot down, as we did have one fender bender while I was in the car, and she wouldn't pull over. Her biggest concern was whether or not my sister -- who had been following in another vehicle -- had seen. She ended up stopping driving on her own, keeping the car so that other people could drive for her. I mean, how would you feel if you didn't stop a drunk driver from driving and something happened? Or driving while too tired to drive? This is no different. The car is a lethal machine, and a license is required for a reason.
  5. Nonspecific deity, I love that album inordinately much. Like a bunch more than any of her other albums.
  6. RIP Makiko Futaki, animator behind Spirited Away, Akira, Howl's Moving Castle, When Marnie Was There, Only Yesterday, Whisper of the Heart, Porco Rosso, Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbour Totoro, and Princess Mononoke. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0299400/
  7. couple of days for a software upgrade?!?!? I'm reading that wrong, I'm sure I am.
  8. Fuck you, a Tirami Su Cupcake? Want! Your sister bakes cupcakes? <3 ___ <3
  9. ...haven't even added the meat yet, was going to add 2 lbs., but pretty sure that won't fit. Will do one pound, eat some, then add the second, or should I hold off until I have 2 or three helpings before I add the second pound...or should I just move it to the larger stovetop pot of the non-crock variety...yeah, will probably do that.
  10. Lollers, looks like someone got carried away at the all-you-can-fit-on-one-plate buffet.
  11. What if we don't watch it? Then we'll never know.
  12. Any day can be made better with the Blue Angels and other jet-powered birds of prey. Cheers to that!
  13. Do you know what? Now that I know it was supposed to be funny, it's funny.
  14. Oh, so it's okay from you guys when you're lipping, but not for the sake of hilarity.
  15. Dammit, hungry now, and it's the middle of the fucking night, so no large meals. Oatmeal or ramen? Madras lentils.
  16. Not sure why this makes Al sad.
  17. Airbag, Disconnected (moar prag)
  18. I don't think there's an emoji that captures my sense of, "that's horridly crass".
  19. So creepy: After which the following exchange happened: "It's Lenin, is it not?" (Me): "It does look like him, dunnit? Also kind of looks like Putin. I wonder if those children are being force-fed his chin. That's...that's kind of very creepy. Like a level of creepy of which I had not heretofore imagined." "Peter (I can almost imagine her stand with her wrists on her hips), this..." "...or that..." Both bald guys. So creepy, whoever it is. Me: (I crack me up.) "Peter...love...You got the drawing tablet out pretty quick!" Me: Giggling like a 6th grader the entire time, too.
  20. I am laughing so hard it hurts. Do yourself a favour and search on "vocals half-step out of key" -- it's the best thing since St. Sanders.
