  1. There's some merit to higher sampling rates (contrary to Dan's contrarianism), but yeah, they lose me somewhere around 192 also. For playback, I don't see the point behind more than 96kHz, myself, but when mixing tracks, I understand the necessity of higher resolutions on the individual tracks as long as the mixdown software doesn't waste it -- you don't want to compound rounding errors. I'd have to do the math (which I have no interest in doing) to see what the necessary individual frequencies would need to be to get moar betr sound at the final mixdown. I personally believe it reduces to phase accuracy, but that's just a SWAG.
  2. Maybe you should use something better than gaffer's tape? Aye keed, aye keed. That so fucking sucks. I'd be ready to kick the car to the ... uh ... curb.
  3. It's pretty amazing that nature can produce something that would make you question whether or not it was natural like that. Makes Dusty happy. Of course, now I want Swedish meatballs or equivalent. Literally.
  4. 32/768 has existed in the professional world for a while now, albeit only at the top end when I was still reading about it regularly (over a year ago).
  5. Yeezh, man, at least it waited a day. But still, sympathies, it's in the 20's here.
  6. McIntosh D100?
  7. Air is one of the best insulators, so yes, bubble wrap is a good idea.
  8. Perhaps a response/homage/comic variation of:
  9. The blankets should have helped, Jacob, perhaps add a layer of saran wrap (the point being to not let it breathe). Treat it like a hole in the wall, with otherwise the same rules (you can't patch it, get to it from outside, etc.).
  10. Used Benchmark Pico DAC (which is not just the DAC part of a DAC/Amp...or is it?) HRT MusicStreamer II+

  12. Crystal Method, new album live stream on Pandora
  13. Dew et. Temperatures have started to plummet already. Sent from mah phone-blet via Tapatalk
  14. This again. Really loving this. They friended me from out of the blue on Facebook. Don't care, there are times when I am in favor of targeted marketing. This is one of those times.
  15. My introduction to Black Sabbath was right around the time of Technical Ecstasy, by way of We Sold Our Soul for Rock'n'Roll. So I have gone through periods of loving every single one of their albums from the first through Technical Ecstasy as my favourite (no, not including Never Say Die. Never Never Say Die -- there are tracks that I really love on that album, but as a whole it just falters too much -- it lacks confidence). And then reverting to We Sold Our Soul... Yes, even Sabotage.
  16. What the what the fuck fuck?
  17. Art thing with sisters, was awesome. He did things like spit wine in drops and make pictures of naked women with them. Sent from mah phone-blet via Tapatalk
  18. I appear on this! This is unmastered -- it's halfway funded right now, it'll get mastered when it reaches funding. But even if it doesn't get funded, you still get all the unmastered tracks and IMHO, not all the tracks need mastering. (Mine just needs the first couple seconds of silence clipped off.) Namlook Tribue Bonus tracks At least 40 tracks averaging more than 5 minutes each, that's 200 minutes of music for $22, what a bargain! It's mostly ambient and atmospheric electro, and profits go to Namlook's family.
  19. Vivalma, Human Effect, Soundcloud stream -- proggy prog, loving it from the opening moment.
  20. o_O
  21. Sure. I have an album by ... I forget, actually ... called, Just the Solos or something to that effect. Each track has the name of a different band -- one is Led Zeppelin, that's the only one I remember for sure; another might be Black Sabbath. It's ambient.
  22. I couldn't get up the hill this last night (I.E. just a couple hours ago), even though there was less than an inch of snow on the ground, it was basically my friend's glorified driveway that he shares with one other house.
  23. Nice and scary...in reverse order. Glad you got it sorted. That could ha' been a nightmare. Jacob -- that was an emotional roller coaster.
