This again. Really loving this. They friended me from out of the blue on Facebook. Don't care, there are times when I am in favor of targeted marketing. This is one of those times.

My introduction to Black Sabbath was right around the time of Technical Ecstasy, by way of We Sold Our Soul for Rock'n'Roll. So I have gone through periods of loving every single one of their albums from the first through Technical Ecstasy as my favourite (no, not including Never Say Die. Never Never Say Die -- there are tracks that I really love on that album, but as a whole it just falters too much -- it lacks confidence). And then reverting to We Sold Our Soul... Yes, even Sabotage.

I appear on this! This is unmastered -- it's halfway funded right now, it'll get mastered when it reaches funding. But even if it doesn't get funded, you still get all the unmastered tracks and IMHO, not all the tracks need mastering. (Mine just needs the first couple seconds of silence clipped off.) Namlook Tribue Bonus tracks At least 40 tracks averaging more than 5 minutes each, that's 200 minutes of music for $22, what a bargain! It's mostly ambient and atmospheric electro, and profits go to Namlook's family.

Sure. I have an album by ... I forget, actually ... called, Just the Solos or something to that effect. Each track has the name of a different band -- one is Led Zeppelin, that's the only one I remember for sure; another might be Black Sabbath. It's ambient.

I couldn't get up the hill this last night (I.E. just a couple hours ago), even though there was less than an inch of snow on the ground, it was basically my friend's glorified driveway that he shares with one other house.

Yeah, I like it, it's a different flavour than the buffalo sauces, which I usually dislike. Earthier, perhaps. Worth trying.

The last couple you can listen to online, that's what I've been doing. Makes for great lazy working Sunday listening.

Re: Johnson's chili recipe -- tangential anecdote: I was doctoring some Newman's Own Beef & Broccoli Skillet for Two, and I didn't realize the hot sauce I had was wide open. I ended up dumping a half bottle of Wizard's Organic Hot Sauce in there. It was actually really good, but I realize I got lucky, you can't do that with just any hot sauce, you have to imagine it in the recipe.

Back when I made chili (I really need to get back to that, I was really happy with it 99% of the time), my first from-scratch recipe was looking at the box, and pulling out all the ingredients, and guessing at the amounts of each. I never made it the same after that, sometimes adding ingredients, sometimes leaving one or the other out (white pepper was a favourite). But yeah, for the most part, it was in the region of Terlingua Red, usually a little muddier (I had a heavy hand).

Mike Vraney, founder of Something Weird video, keeper of the ...well, let's call it what it is...weird movie flame, passed away. Having formerly been a card-carrying member of Video Vault in Alexandria, VA, I have seen quite a bit of his work.

Pfff -- Why do we have to make it a competition? Can't we just appreciate each doctor for what they are, for what they bring to the table? Ditto companions. I mean, it's not like it's a draft pick or whatever they're called. Personally, I think the real stars are the writers. Doctor Who's Whedon is Moffat.
