  1. Lollers. Not me, that's pretty much exactly what I mean by 'spacey'. I won't argue that a lot of it sounds similar, though. I think that's mostly because they improvise without following an arrangement, and the easiest way to do that is to stick with one key (I.E. no chordal progressions). Also that Cure guitar sound. A lot of post-rock seems to have it. Someone pointed that out to me, and for the next two days, everything I played seemed to have it.
  2. yellow curry chicken noodle
  3. Yeah, that 128GB iPad was introduced 2 weeks ago.
  4. Happy Birthday, bud! (party favour noise)
  5. Rachel's, Significant Others
  6. The Ocean, Fogdiver
  7. Fair to Midland, Arrows & Anchors
  8. Yeah, that was during my time off from Head-Case, I (strongly) suspect. I never went back and reviewed every thread, but probably should have in the music forum at least. Season of Mist! They rawk. Arcturus, Atheist, new Cynic, Esoteric. Oh, and it cracks me up that they're Russian but sing in Finnish -- that's so metal. \mm/
  9. Batman: Year One Fffuuu...you wouldn't think anyone could do Frank Miller justice but Roberto Rodriguez...much less WARNER BROTHERS...but...unholy carp! They did.
  10. No, I need to track down an alternate way of sampling them as they are not on Spotify. PS Kauan is definitely up my alley. I don't know where I missed that rec, but thanks for re-upping it.
  11. You say that like it's a bad thing...
  12. I am checking them out now. (Tips hat) Sent frum mah phone-blet using Tapatalk.
  13. Suxors. Will check out Hawkwind -- I'm not familiar with all their material, but I should probably check out some of their longer songs. I was almost tempted to do that -- just look for albums that only had 5 or 6 songs on it, just to see what that would get me.
  14. I've been finding myself more and more unsatisfied by the post-rock scene, which seems to be the one area keeping the space-rock flag raised, what with both Riverside's and Antimatter's recent changes in direction. So make me some suggestions. What I'm looking for is that patient approach to music that songs like "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" (starting at part one), "Echoes", Talk Talk's "The Rainbow", etc.
  15. Because they're like snow blowers and generators -- you hardly ever need them. For people like me, they have cheap little plastic disposable $1.99 jobs. I wish I could find them (I had a couple from when I had long hair), as I have a sink that doesn't drain quickly enough for my liking since I moved.
  16. Great retardation
  17. Yeah, well, I found it a little dirty in a frustrating way... Various Artists, Five Point One (The Mark Reeder 2.0 Versions) -- discovered while playing connect the dots from the Daou -- mix of 80's synthpop, 80's artists' contemporary synthpop, and electroclash (current artists that sound like 80's synthpop) -- I'll be purchasing this...
  18. Three Days to Never Can't find my copy of John Dies at the End, I think I was reading it right up until just a couple hours before I took off for San Francisco, but for the life of me, I can't recall where I went for breakfast/lunch, which is where I would have left it if I left it anywhere.
  19. Vanessa Daou, Zipless -- I've been meaning to listen to this since it came out, now, on Spotify, I can, so here I am...
  20. Oneohtrix Point Never, Rifts -- experimental electronica -- more like 'musical ideas' of varying length, varying musicality*, and varying accessibility. Melikey. *Musicality being that scale from pure 'hook' to pure 'aggravation'.
  21. Lots of bokeh, please. Mmm...in-n-out of focus snowflakes...
  22. Opened a twitter account -- @TheDustyChalk (someone took @DustyChalk, the fucker) -- I don't intend to be active, but it was a required field in a Kickstarter reward. Wait, isn't that called "China"? And working from home doesn't count -- I'm not envious of those people for some reason. It's the 800 ft. thing that I'm jealous of.
  23. Yeah, keep safe, Noreasters.
  24. Okay, just got the CD -- there's a bonus disc, "Night Session" (parts one and two) -- can't wait to hear it
