  1. There's a story that I don't know. Happy Birthday, Colin! (party favour noise)
  2. A Place to Bury Strangers, Worship and Exploding Head -- binging, basically. The reverb is so wet they sound like they recorded in Luray Caverns, but other than that, I dig.
  3. Yeah, but how many sound designers besides him would know what to do with it? That said, I haven't read the article yet, so...(wanders off to read article)
  4. I might have to, otherwise I might be zombie bait!
  5. Happy Birthday, Steve! (party favour noise)
  6. ZOMG, this cat just discovered where French Fries come from: I think we all know this feeling:
  7. Pieter Nooten, Surround Us -- if you were a synesthete, and wanted to know what melancholia sounded like, it'd be this album. If you had to make up music that qualified as "Dusty Chalk approved", all ambient and sad but accessible, not completely off the rails experimental, it would be this.
  8. Damn, I might have to go to the Baltimore date Just got out of Hilary Hahn She was superb, as always Sent frum mah phone-blet using Tapatalk.
  9. Triathlon+zombie shoot Sent frum mah phone-blet using Tapatalk.
  10. Yeah he is. He's usually on at midnight EST, but he's been on earlier several times now. It's 'fluid'
  11. Confident of his math skills.
  12. Happy Birthday, Ed! (party favour noise)
  13. Yeah, that was superb, I might just have to buy Future Loops. What was the Michael McDonald one? I actually enjoyed all the yacht rock (and era) remixes.
  14. What was the beatboxing one before Tosca? Sent frum mah phone-blet using Tapatalk.
  15. Lollers @ current selection Sent frum mah phone-blet using Tapatalk.
  16. The Heavy, The Glorious Dead Organic, groovy, laid-back, bluesy poprock -- the song, "Be Mine" has already convinced me (due to misheard lyrics) that the name of my first album should be, "Get Off My Mind" (such a great pun) I call this universal music, because just about anyone in the universe would like this.
  17. Riverside, Night Session -- it's exactly what it sounds like it is -- it's like they put the new Riverside in a centrifuge, and all the space and improv went onto this disk. On an unrelated note, I wonder when Oh Land is going to put out that Tricky collaboration. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like that she puts herself out there (ahem) ...uh... Where was I going with that? I forget... Something about PR I'll be in my bunk. NP: "I Wanna Do Bad Things to You" -- not the song, just my voice, saying those words.
  18. I wonder if they would go counter-clockwise in the other hemisphere.
  19. Wow, compare. I have enough speakers I have enough speakers I have enough speakers I have enough speakers...
  20. Is it each/each/each, pair/pair/each, or what?
  21. Yeah, that's pretty much a no-brainer, win-win solution.
  22. I just discovered a new favourite YouTube stream: The Room takes 8 minutes. I haven't watched it yet.
  23. Nice segue EDIT: Me -- Mike Oldfield, Tubular Beats
  24. Lollers. Not me, that's pretty much exactly what I mean by 'spacey'. I won't argue that a lot of it sounds similar, though. I think that's mostly because they improvise without following an arrangement, and the easiest way to do that is to stick with one key (I.E. no chordal progressions). Also that Cure guitar sound. A lot of post-rock seems to have it. Someone pointed that out to me, and for the next two days, everything I played seemed to have it.
  25. yellow curry chicken noodle
