  1. (a) Yeah, I do that, too. Especially after I heard the story of a waitress who was told to write the tip in herself, probably expecting her to write in 15% or whatever was standard at the time, and ended up writing herself a $1,000 tip or some other extravagant amount in the dollars of the time. ( b ) Yeah, it's okay, unless they give you a dirty look for (see (a) above). Solution -- pay for takeout in cash when possible.
  2. I know who Adrian Sherwood is (mostly for his U-Sound remixes for Depeche Mode, PWEI, and Skinny Puppy, and for everyone citing him as having taught Trent everything Trent knew for Pretty Hate Machine), I'm one of the few people I know who own Friendly as a Hand Grenade. I should post my kit one of these days.
  3. Also, did you just call yourself 'Knuckledragger'? I don't think I've heard you do that before. EDIT: Yes, yes, you just did it again. Wasn't sure if 'Knuckledragger' extended outside of head-case. 'DJ Knuckledragger', I like it. Or is it just, 'Knuckledragger'?
  4. Seriously, don't ever stop posting studio porn. I miss my Eventide.
  5. Damn, I love fusion.
  6. Al Di Meola, "SeƱor Mouse" -- goddamn I love this track, especially those two builds at 3:40-4:20 and 6:00-6:30. I might have to construct an ambient shepard scale of chords that utilizes this sequence.
  7. Seriously. I hate those tip jars at the counter. The rule of thumb is if they serve you at your table (or bar stool), or if you have to do most everything yourself -- tip/no tip. I tend to overlook them (the jars). You know what else I hate? When you do take-out on credit card, and there's a spot for tipping.
  8. Yeezh. 3 different hits? Wowzers. Time to get a tank.
  9. Happy birthday, Bonnie! (party favour noise)
  10. Kind of putting me in the mood for Muse, so alternating this with the Muse versions of the same songs. I'll probably just stick Muse on random after that.
  11. I don't know, I'm only in season 2, but Hank's been a good guy so far. Yeah, he's a misogynist pig and a typical "loud American" -- full of bluster and always needing to be the alpha, but...I don't know, I guess I've just known people like that before, and they've been good people, so I transfer their characteristics to him. But that said, I can see why he's not very likeable, so even though he's a good guy, hubby might not want to watch the show just for him.
  12. I hope he doesn't go after Ronald Jenkins. Or masturbators. Or sample CD's. Or Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best. Or... I should stop giving them ideas.
  13. Happy belated Birthday! (party favor noise) Sent frum mah phone-blet using Tapatalk.
  14. ...which was excellent too albeit short. Starting The Stress of Her Regard. Sent frum mah phone-blet using Tapatalk.
  15. Finished Three Days To Never, which was astounding. Starting Salvage And Demolition. Sent frum mah phone-blet using Tapatalk.
  16. Hrmmm... Sent frum mah phone-blet using Tapatalk.
  17. Fuck yeah Love love love me some Hiromi Just found out she had that new release today Will look up tour dates when I get out Sent frum mah phone-blet using Tapatalk.
  18. Crap TV Supernatural Charmed Etc. But I forgot how hot Phoebe and Piper were And the truthspell schtick was kind of hilarious What is your master plan, evil villain? (Proceeds to tell everything while banging head against wall) Sent frum mah phone-blet using Tapatalk.
  19. Started with At Carnegie Hall with the Theolonious Monk Quartet, queued those up for next.
  20. Anja Garbarek, her entire oeuvre, inspired by the knowledge that Mark Hollis of Talk Talk helped produce it after his solo album. All three of her albums are quite good. I'm only familiar with My Favourite Things and Blue Train, what should I try next? Queuing up Birth of the Cool in the meantime -- Mark Hollis was definitely influenced by jazz during his latter actively musical years.
  21. Welcome to the 90's?
  22. Happy Birthday, Nate! (party favour noise)
  23. Um...no? Isn't that utilitarian more than vain? Or do you actually like the way it looks?
  24. Various artists, Spirit of Talk Talk -- goddamn, this is the best tribute compilation I've ever heard...but mostly if you love Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock -era Talk Talk. Moody, patient, atmospheric, jazzy, and above all, consistent. It works so well as an album.
