What are you listening to Part the Third
Sylvan, Sceneries -- a pentuple of quadrilogies...or rather, a quadrilogy of quadrilogies and one trilogy. Prog by contemporary standards, although I'd call it neo-prog...post-prog? Delightful. Melikey.

I used to have that poster somewhere.

Oh, and it's not $129, it's $156 (EU120). :\

Bombs exploded at Boston Marathon
They did something really cool -- they went through all the videos and synchronized them with cell phone tower information and they found someone who made a call at the exact same time as the second explosion who also dropped a package off at the location of the second explosion. So now they have the name associated with that number, someone to question, but they don't know if it's the same person as in the video. This is from my local news radio station, WTOP, which has been extremely conservative about prematurely reporting information. I usually hear about rumours as denials first, for example.

I thought Carver worked for Sunfire? Oh, wait, I see, Carver != Bob Carver LLC.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Yeah, I was reminded today that my mom said an awful lot of mean things. My security question on an ancient account I was trying to access was, "Why do you hate your mother?" :\ I couldn't remember.

Hurray! for removal of dead things

USB and isolation and whatnot
Yup, I did understand that it's not much more than that. Yeah, I saw that too. But what the hell, they're already paying for the webspace, why not try to expand the market to gamers and computer geeks?

Bombs exploded at Boston Marathon
The thing is, our government does an excellent job of preventing attacks such as these, and has prevented many. This is the first one of such ambitious scope that got through. That said, to quote Blue Oyster Cult:

Should be, "yes." (Found this image while looking for the "No" movie poster (e.g.) with teh grumpeh cat Photoshopped in.) Also, overheard recently (drunk baby meme reminded me): Bartender, ridiculously polite: "How can I help you?" Bartendee, mockingly slurred speech: "Why yes, I do have a drinking problem, I don't have a bottle in front of me." I laughed.

And now what did you do TODAY?
We've been using Google hangout to videoconference our weekly meetings at work, and I did it from home today because I was running behind schedule. I resisted the urge to pick Bobby up and hold him and make him look like he was dancing in front of the camera.

Bombs exploded at Boston Marathon
Brent -- I didn't hear ball bearings, but I did hear glass -- also, the placement lends itself to shrapnel-by-proximity. Obviously a terrorist attack -- the venue was not only chosen for its large collection of people in one place, but the mood-darkening aspect of such an attack at such an event, and the fact that it would almost definitely be documented. The only question remains is who is responsible, domestic/foreign, individual/organization, etc. But very carefully thought out whichever way it goes.

USB and isolation and whatnot
I was reading this review, and it mentions the AqVox USB isolating power supply: A strong statement. But after looking around, there appears to be some controversy -- so...what it is? Have you tried it? Did it make a difference? It sounds like I should at least try it, but the AqVox appears to be geared towards the European market -- so is there a North American equivalent? I'd be particularly interested in Justin's thoughts since he has probably already put some thought into this. Justin?

Bombs exploded at Boston Marathon
Yeezh. My sympathies and condolences to everyone who was hurt by the blast. Was listening to the story my entire way in to work (which is unheard of for me, as I am usually too ADD to listen to the news for 30 minutes straight).

What are you listening to Part the Third
I was listening to the news coming out of the IED attack at the Boston marathon the entire way in to work today. Unholy carp!

And now what did you do TODAY?
Helped clean my mother's apartment some more. Took a couple of paintings into protective custody (neither of the girls wanted it -- well one of them did, but didn't want to get too greedy, but when she gets a new apartment (she's looking) I'll offer her the one) and a really nice brass pepper grinder from Turkey. Recommendations on cleaning it? Vinegar only?

Ye Macce Threade
I don't think it's just Mac -- I'm on Windows, and I've been having trouble with YouTube, Vimeo, and even Xfinity/Comcast all weekend.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Yeah, it's my own fault. Later, when I have time, I'm going to revisit it. Mostly it's the hit my savings took when I thought I was going to be unemployed last year for longer than I was, then didn't put it back when I got a new job like I should have. I just suck at moneys. Although now I want to get laid off, so I can come lie on your couch and have you feed me French food. Do you watch Whites?

And now what did you do TODAY?
They grow up so fast. Me: did my taxes, I owed. I sure hope I don't get laid off.
