Я не понимаю это. On an unrelated note, when I came home tonight, I had the apartment dark (like I usually do), but I could still see the little silhouette of a cat on my refrigerator, and immediately decided if I ever get two more black cats, I would name them "Scaramouche" and "Fandango" (although I would not do that to Gremlyn, because she already has a [cool] name).

I actually have a Clearaudio table that I never set up -- mostly because it has the European power supply, and I never fixed that. It's a fairly highly considered turntable (or was at least, back in the early aughts) by the British audiophile news media. I need to either sell it or finally get around to setting it up, meaning swapping in a power supply or getting the American motor. And I agree about the new furniture -- it's more important with turntables than any other component. You really need to decouple it from the output of the speakers, especially at lower frequencies. Headphones are really best (sticks tongue out at whoever said it wasn't). Given infinite resources, I would even put it in a completely different room, but then you miss the first few seconds every time you have to go there to get things started. The fact that they do housecalls to set up is awesome -- worth it's weight in gold to have someone who knows what they're doing.

It's a little more downbeat than others, but I still like it, you have to be in a patient mood. How did you like No More Shall We Part? It sort of hit me the same way when I first heard it. Oh, and I love his voice. I might have to steal a few mannerisms from him.

Johnny Marr, The Messenger -- classic Johnny Marr, accessible jangly guitar Brit-pop, makes you want to learn guitar, recording, and make records.

Yeah, I don't think it has anything to do with it being Siamese, there are some cats that are just loud. They've learned how to 'project', so project they do. Have you ever dormed with a diva? I haven't, but I used to visit a friend in his dorm, and you always knew when she was in or out. And you can mostly reason with humans. Mostly.

Damnit, Colin! Why didn't we do that... Yes, that's my first 'Damnit, Colin'.

I would add an HRT MusicStreamer II+ to that shortlist. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm a huge HRT fanboi. I own the HeadStreamer and the MusicStreamer Pro.

Sweet.

You certainly can't go wrong with the HeadAmp. I think there's even a used one hanging around here somewhere. No, sorry, that's the You should still buy it.

How to Destroy Angels, Welcome Oblivion -- going through this list, basically. EDIT: You know what? This is kind of annoying, actually. Tracks like "Strings and Attractors" and "On the Wing" are just...I don't know...annoying. (And yeah, kind of sounds like some recent Autechre stuff, which I also find annoying.)

^ Such a great album, one of the few popular albums I really like. Me: Atoms for Peace (Thom Yorke's new project), Amok

It's close to you? Oh, I guess it is. Alas, not for me.

It does kind of ruin the mood of those tracks a little. Wait, you listened to it when you got home, so when the station was off the air? Yeah, that was ridonculous, but try listening when there's something playing, it's not as bad. ...but you pick such great tunage, that it's still worth listening to, and doesn't take completely away from the overall vibe. I think I'd find it more tolerable on speakers, for some reason, but on the Sony MDR-V6's, it was quite the BUZZwound. Did you notice it is inversely proportional to the energy of the track? Almost like it's autoducked.

Where is that high-pitched whine coming from? I can usually ignore it, but it is really obvious when you play stuff with a lot of quiet, as you are now. Sent frum mah phone-blet using Tapatalk.

Pfff...Please turn in your Team Overkill card.

Yup, after reading your other thread at MacRumors, I gotta agree. For all we know, slots 3 and 4 are not connected to the board correctly.

Grrr...

Yeah, I was largely just being snarky. But you have to admit, at least they'll be able to keep up with demand.

So a friend of mine is trying to track down a painter. I tried doing an image search, but all I'm getting is a bunch of "oil painting with glare" type images, for obvious reasons. Anyone know how to get rid of the glare? Or perhaps they just know who the painter is.

Happy Birthday, bud! I miss you, can't wait for things to calm down enough for both of us to get together. (party favour noise)

Well, it's not screwing with it to go in and look without changing anything.

Vinyl can be flattened again. But it would take a couple days for it to get to that point. Basements are a good place to store to avoid that. Then it would take even longer. There are plenty of after-market dust covers, and you should get one.
