Suxors. Will check out Hawkwind -- I'm not familiar with all their material, but I should probably check out some of their longer songs. I was almost tempted to do that -- just look for albums that only had 5 or 6 songs on it, just to see what that would get me.

I've been finding myself more and more unsatisfied by the post-rock scene, which seems to be the one area keeping the space-rock flag raised, what with both Riverside's and Antimatter's recent changes in direction. So make me some suggestions. What I'm looking for is that patient approach to music that songs like "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" (starting at part one), "Echoes", Talk Talk's "The Rainbow", etc.

Because they're like snow blowers and generators -- you hardly ever need them. For people like me, they have cheap little plastic disposable $1.99 jobs. I wish I could find them (I had a couple from when I had long hair), as I have a sink that doesn't drain quickly enough for my liking since I moved.

Well, to start with, you know that Lovespiralsdownward morphed into Lovespirals, right? And I really dig that whole Elfenstaub series, although that's more downtempo than trip-hop And Halou, Wiser always gets lumped in that trip-hop category, although it's more than that. One of my favourite albums of 2001, if not the favourite. Rob Dougan, Furious Angels is similarly one of my favourite albums of 1998, though I didn't know that until years later. He, too, wanders outside of pure trip-hop. That's why I didn't want to recommend you anything, whatever I think of are my own albums of association more than what yours will be. Blue Foundation, Sweep of Days And of course there are the classics -- Becoming X, Faithless, Massive Attack, Morcheeba, Tricky, Portishead, Zero 7, Lamb (again: -ish)... This is all assuming you're on Spotify and can try before you buy...I'm sure you have your own way of sampling stuff... EDIT: Also, if you are on Spotify, I really like the playlist, "Enter the Dub" by Tom Grønås.
