  1. Metallic Taste of Blood -- Colin Edward (Porcupine Tree) side project
  2. Brent -- yeah, I should have been able to afford this as well, but am going to eschew, alas.
  3. Sympathies. I have similar problems, only in my case it's not any one thing, it's disregarding my health in progressively worse ways for progressively longer periods of time. So for example, latest iteration, I haven't exercised and allowed myself to gain weight, so although I'm not in the worst shape of my life, I am probably at my most overweight.
  4. Which one did you get, the 105 or the 103?
  5. "I'm in love fuck buddies with my car motorcycle" Maybe someone should do '39, and have the offspring accidentally have sex with the ancestors...inbreeding and hilarity ensue.
  6. Riverside -- all the albums, plus a couple of the EP's -- really dig these guys, more than most of their peers.
  7. Unremarkably, I was a pedant back then as well. Happy thanksgiving you all! Several of the families with which I've had thanksgiving over the years have a tradition of going around the table and saying what they are thankful for, so I'm going to do so here, as it's apt: I am thankful for my family. I'm glad they're still around, otherwise I'd be just that little bit more lonely, even when I'm with other people. Knowing that they're there is a load-lightening knowledge. I am thankful for my cats. They provide the majority of the love I receive these days. And farts. And that's quite a bit. The love that is, not the farts. I am really thankful for you all -- you got me through a really tough time this year, and in hindsight, brought me down from a panic attack. In addition to the other kind of support, the emotional support you gave me could not have been better timed, and when I think back on it, I still get a little more proud for being able to call you my friends. EDIT: I am thankful that I still have my penis. My balls, not so much -- what a waste of flesh they are.
  8. +1
  9. Fuck me. All aboard the exclamation bandwagon... Seriously -- isn't this the first time they didn't exempt the DSP amp?
  10. I have to admit, I had to look that up.
  11. After reporting which sounds better. And swapping the knobs and accoutrements, so that they are both grey-black.
  12. I always hated when their feet didn't jive with their motion. And as wasteful as it was, that iPad Mini shooting was kind of beautiful. It hasn't even started flying yet, and the second bullet goes through right next to the first...at which point it does start flying, but that just means the 3rd bullet causes more damage by not going straight through it.
  13. I want a grumpy cat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72DJZ7yT-HQ
  14. Stahp. I mean, just think, "What Would Patrick Do?" -- and then do the opposite.
  15. Dude, I should ban you just for that post, I don't care if you're British.
  16. Well, I'm revisiting all three, starting with Memories in My Head, and I remember why I liked this so much -- I just don't get enough space rock. Space rock is my preferred genre. At least, that's why I like this so much. We'll see if it sustains when I get to Out of Myself... EDIT: And ADHD is fucking awesome, I love those stilted rhythms. "Hyperactive", in particular, is an outstanding album opener -- I find it totally energetic. EDIT: There's also a great quote in Classic Rock presents Prog magazine with Akerfeldt on the cover, something about "I don't understand why fans want progressive acts to stand still" -- I think he even specifically mentions ...well, maybe not My Arms, Your Hearse, but maybe Morningrise, something to the effect of, "we already released that, we want to move on to something else, I would think our fans would want that, too". EDIT: Okay, just got to Out of Myself. WTF? This isn't that different. And besides, ADHD >> Out of Myself. Alright, maybe just one, '>'.
  17. Indeed, heh. I'm not usually very good at samplespotting, so the fact that I actually recognized it, I had to post. I tend towards classic rock for my own lifted drums, mostly because that's what's most familiar.
  18. The Verbrilli Sound, Many Coloured Butterflies Thanks, that album cover is going to feature prominently in tonight's nightmare.
  19. The bit from 0:57 is distinctly the opening from "Take the Money and Run", if that's any help.
  20. Fuck, really? Damnit. Also, -- more importantly, he posted some interesting pics on the next page.
  21. So apparently KRK (famous home studio monitor maker) makes headphones.
  22. Doctor Who -- just got to the Daleks In Manhattan/The Evolution of the Daleks episodes. Tallulah: Hey, you're lucky though, you've got yourself a forward?-thinking guy with that hot potato in the sharp suit. Martha: ...he's not...we're not...together. Talulah: Oh sure you are, I've seen the way you look at him, it's obvious. Martha: Not to him. Tallulah: Oh, I shoulda realize -- he's into musical theatre, huh? What a waste... Also: welcome to my nightmare, human/Dalek hybrid.
  23. Why would anyone slap you for liking Lionel Richie? Now Madonna, we might slap you for living a cliche'...
  24. You'll do fine, Jacob!
  25. Uh...yeah they do. Or so I've heard. What? Okay, so the three main parts of the ho-ho is the chocolate outer layer (waxy), the cake (dry), and the filling (cloyingly sweet -- I think it's the same stuff in the center of a Twinkie). It's kind of nasty.
