Seriously, even I might be in the market for the 13" one -- 2560x1600 for US$1700? The screen alone is probably worth more than half of that, so it's like getting the computer part for US$700.

I got nothing, other than a commendation for taking the approach of, "don't change it for the sake of changing it, only change it if it's an improvement" -- I have to agree that I was looking at these against each other -- the original logo clearly wins. And I sort of agree with Chris' attitude of keeping it simple, though perhaps not that simple. You have a logo, keep it. You'd be surprised what simply changing the aspect ratio on it and the thickness of the lines would do to making it look more elegant.

Okay, I didn't know. There's nothing 'slightly off-kilter' about this, this is as mainstream as it gets. I didn't realize this was the "Marry You" guy. God I hate that song, and I don't even know why. It just ruined the rest of the album for me, I tried to skip it, but I just couldn't bring myself to listen to the rest of the album. (shudders involuntarily) Okay, this turned into more of a "what am I not listening to" post.

So where are you again, Seattle? I know I'd never get a stick in the DC area (I hate manual transmission for stop-and-go), but what's the traffic like out there? Something to keep in mind. 'cause you could always get something cheap and reasonable. Like a Mazdaspeed3 or a Honda Civic hatchback.

Getting an adapter loses the benefit of going balanced from the amp to the headphones, so no, don't do that. But it looks like Nate already has it under control, so that's all I wanted to pipe in/append with. For future reference, there are companies (e.g. Headroom) that will sell you pre-terminated-as-balanced cables -- look, they even have a balanced HD650 cable.

So I'd have to transfer my SIM card...wait, I don't have a SIM card? Yes, want. Will look into it. Thanks.

I blame smartphones/Facebook/Foursquare/YouTube/de-evolution. But to be fair, in the DC area, that's always been the case, it's just gotten worse recently. My earplugs do a pretty good job of blocking out vocal content without blocking out the ridiculously amplified music.

Yeah, we don't talk about headphones any more, just drinking. Kidding; welcome back; etc. If memory serves, recabling is necessary, but nothing stands out. The biggest difference is going from stock to pretty much any decent upgrade cable. I prefer the Cardas, but that's MHO. Sure wouldn't hurt to get a balanced one to go with your amp. 4 pin XLR? Might see if one of the DIY guys would solder something together for you. And yes, if you're going for comfort, you can't do much better than the Sennheiser HD600/HD580/HD650. Excellent choice.

It's really fucking bad, and so is my eyesight. The latter is getting worse every day. I couldn't tell the difference between porn and emoticons without glasses. Seriously considering seeing if I qualify for Lasik. I have to admit, the touchscreen (and the phone, for that matter) is finally beginning to fail and I am looking at getting a new one, but thinking of going cheap and getting a Pantech Marauder or Lucid or Rhyme or some such.
