Happy Beerfday! (party favour noise)

Eric -- can it do phantom center? I.E. redirect the center channel to the front left + right?
-
I did that once or twice (full volume through amp to speakers). Of course, without the burning holes through the tweeters part.

Voltron (to Mrs. Voltron): (shrugs, smiles) Time to get new speakers?

So, theoretically, with the crossover in the earpiece, yet separated, they could still correct for phase in the DSP -- so is that what freqphase is doing? Sounds like the best of both worlds -- one can still use the JH13 or JH16 by itself with any amp one wants, or with the JH3A and get the DSP correction (but then stuck with the internal amps). Best of all three worlds would be to have the ability to swap in amps and DACs. Four worlds. I don't know, maybe he should just release the code. But then one would have to be able to drive multiple DACs with different sources, so this isn't a Windows based system.

Me, too. Although it's just an EP so it's already over half over. I should probably decide what I'm listening to next. PS Great name -- hint, look at the lips sideways. Also: not the best representation -- take, for example, Elizabeth Banks' Hunger Games character's lips as a slightly better example. EDIT: Now playing, Ivy, All Hours -- great poppy pop, this is poppy. Soon: Plumb -- I don't know, something. Then back to Klaus Schulze.

Okay, this was news to me. When did this happen? EDIT: And yeah, what Birgir said -- what's the point of the JH3A? I thought they had some kind of bandpass filter in the JH3A that out-and-out moved into the digital realm, so that therefore the two were no longer compatible, I.E. you needed the DSP to do at least that part. Also, how are they going to freqphase anything in the analog realm, I just assumed by this that it was going to be in the digital realm -- isn't it? This sounds like what they were originally shooting for. I'm a just gonna have to PM him. He's on here, right?

No, don't worry about it, I just thought it was funny that it worked out to be exactly a headphone cable -- I just ordered a pair from B&H (well, I went with XLR instead of 1/4", but 1/4" was one of the options). It's intended use is going to be completely different -- the part that plugs into the headphone is going to plug, instead, into one channel of the DAC, and the other side is going to plug into one of the stereo pair of monitors.

I'm not sure it's ridiculous -- isn't the crossover built into the JH3A's DSP program? I.E. won't it sound wrong without the JH3A?

What Gallo speakers? I missed that somewhere along the line. You say 'mount', so...Stradas?

I fail at math.

So the mini has fewer pixels than the iTouch?

Good luck, Jacob!

Also, impedance matching with whatever's next downstream (presumably the amp). Might I also throw HRT Music Streamer + on the pile? Sounded really refined and straightforward with plenty of separation (which are the ingredients to a good soundstage).

Damnit, that's not what I thought it was...

I have a kimono just like that one on the side. I start my day the ToeTunes way. Extra bonus! -- they double as faux-burns. I wonder if those are Lowtherses...

Wait, can one be knowingly genuinely ironic? I know it's technically possible, but it sounds oxymoronic.

They don't go loud well at all -- sound terrible when distorting. But other than that, yes, am extremely happy with them. So with the qualification that you're not trying to overcome a noisy environment (which is what I was doing -- server has a damn noisy fan), they should be fine. Within their limits, they're wonderful little speakers. You want one? I have no need for two, I gave up on that. Also, if you want to borrow one, just to see if they can handle Epica, you're welcome to do that, too. (They really don't handle busy music well, either, but that was not rarely the point, while at work. You're welcome to decide for yourself -- they were not that bad on busy music softly as they were on any music loudly.) The form factor is pure win. HpA -- yes, what I'm basically looking for is a femme-mini-XLR-to- either male-XLR or -to-male-TRS, but the point was to see if I could find a local dealer that would actually have something in stock, like an AKG dealer. Heck, I have several AKG headphones, I might even have something at home. Also, it's 3-pin mini-XLR, not 4-pin. The local Rat Shack and Guitar Center didn't seem to have anything (based on online), and I'd rather not get an adapter (weight on the connector). So if I don't find anything locally, I'll order something from B&H Photo or Markertek or something.

Well that's weird -- the HRT Music Streamer Pro has mini-XLR connectors, not TRS connectors like they looked like when I wasn't looking carefully enough. The Equators have both TRS and XLR inputs, so basically I want an AKG replacement headphone cable.
