  1. Yeah, that was an emotional one. This is an ironic one (or unfortunate, I don't know which): Michael Chiarello -- famous food chef, died of complications resulting from an acute allergic reaction. What an awful way to go. I'll probably die of something stupid, like drowning in my own snot (I have a cold right now, and I had one of the hottest Chinese mustards I've ever had on my egg roll earlier, and the mustard loosened up my sinuses), so I am not being judgmental here.
  2. Samsara Blues Experiment, Rock Hard in Concert (Live) Stoner, my beloved. Very comfy. Nicely psychedelic touches.
  3. What I love about this story (as a non-attendee) is that I literally couldn't tell the difference between reality and an Onion article. He has become the living embodiment. If I was an attendee, I would've been pissed. Oh, and finally, snarky response: Animals Redux (Not Even the Music)
  4. RIP Rudolph Isley, harmony singer and one of the main songwriters of the Isley Brothers.
  5. Most of the album is out on Spotify, in two forms.
  6. Pick your favourite news source, this apparently really happened, and is not satire: https://www.google.com/search?q=roger+waters+london+show+fuck+off
  7. Yeezh, re: making your wife and daughter sitting on the floor. Yeezher re: dodging bombs.
  8. Love this. What genre would you call this? Unrelated: Have i shared this yet? Classical Japanese (the woman, Ueda) meets Modern French Prog (the three four guys, PoiL)
  9. One of mine as well. There's sort of a Discord server devoted to it, but all they care about is Casiopea and T-Square. Are you fond of "City Pop"? Lamp, etc.? But I digress. All I know is Casiopea, T-Square/The Square/3rd Square and related, Hiromi, and Nucleus (Alleycat, etc.). Wouldn't mind some recommendations.
  10. Pinhead: You mean, The Tetrubiksis Configuration, hmmm?
  11. Happy Birthday to a very generous soul.
  12. Shush, you. He likes engraving. Let him have his fun.
  13. Kiss the Anus of a Black Cat, Hewers of Wood and Drawers of Water I don't know who needs to hear this, but I did, and I liked it. Band name is awkward, though. https://kisstheanusofablackcat.bandcamp.com/track/argonaut-and-magneto Also: Piano Magic, Ovations Amazing album, somewhere between Pieter Nooten, Dead Can Dance, and...I honestly don't know, it sounds vaguely like stuff I used to listen to regularly, yet not like any of them. His Name is Alive, maybe? I'm mentioning a bunch of 4AD artists, so that should give you an idea. From a different album:
  14. Even though it's Ramen Monday, I had Pho.
  15. Sure, why not? It's just an entry level version of Logic (or so I've been told by those in the industry).
  16. Having recently put together a bunch of metal shelves, I sure hope he (yes, I am assuming it is statistically likely that it is a "he") put spacers or shims or something to reduce rattle.
  17. Happy birthday! (party favour noise)
  18. How does that work? You roast the ingredients first, then mix 'em?
  19. It still cracks me up that a former AMERICAN IDOL finalist-- and a gorgeous one at that -- someone you would think would totally embrace all that is popular -- would so fully immerse herself into the world of prog. But GODDAMN, do they make great music. I am so excited for the forthcoming album.
  20. They're so great. Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I don't know how to game Tidal's recommendations. I listen to a lot of shit because of one prog Discord server which is very slanted towards metal which skews my recommendations towards metal that I don't want to listen to. All I can recommend is to ignore their recommendations, and find an alternate source (MPR?) for your new music releases to which to listen. I am fortunate in that I have an imaginary friend on Discord that has VERY similar tastes to me (including Hiromi, Sheena Ringo/Tokyo Incidents, and Casiopea!).
  21. I've been immersing myself in Quantum Computing so have been listening to The New Quantum Era.
