  1. Classic 80's band, they put me in mind of Spandau Ballet. Very 80's. Always liked "Digging Your Scene", myself. Me: Pure Reason Revolution, Hammer and Anvil -- my friend described this album as largely "Stabbing Nails Mode", and that isn't too far off the mark, although a bit of an over-pigeonhole-ization. They do still have some class PRR influence on a couple of tracks. But let's put it this way, if you didn't like the previous album, Amor Vincit Omnia, and "Stabbing Nails Mode" doesn't make you want to listen to it more, then I suspect you won't like it. That said, I think I like it better than the second album -- it strikes me as being better blended than the second album, which had that back-and-forth thing going on. Although the second album still has a special place in my heart just for being so weird. So if they haven't completely lost you with the second album, then at least give this one a listen.
  2. (makes a note of it)
  3. The Third Eye Foundation, The Dark -- Matt Elliot returns to the 3ef project for a full album -- the difference largely being the D&B undertones, but still inimitably Matt Elliott. Also looks like he brought some cohorts:
  4. It's probably an attempt to assuage the "immeasurable" argument.
  5. "I thought we already had the best stuff?" "Yeah, but this stuff's better."
  6. Kelley Armstrong, Frostbitten -- easily my favorite author of this genre. I love the way she can switch 'voice'.
  7. Yeezh, I've never had those problems (I use a wired-network computer, myself). So yeah, it's probably what you said.
  8. I don't know, man, open flames?
  9. Want godzilla pants. I like how she doesn't deny anything until she realizes this is going out over the airwaves. ...or a typical anorexic model.

  11. I would think a device that extracts the digital signal for its own purposes without passing it on would be an easier sell, but I'm conjecturing...
  12. This is also a function of the movie chosen -- more recent ones look better than the earlier ones.
  13. I hit a bump today, and it finally went...including resetting itself. I'll have to go see later, see how far it got, but I'm pretty sure it was going on 300.
  14. Hey now! I exceeded 30 mph just today. By a goodly margin. Allegedly. PS I am having zero luck finding where I thought I saw the De Dolle Reserva, sorry...but it's an annual thing, so at this point, your best bet is to just wait for the 2010 to come out.
  15. You can report it as a bug -- Apple is actually pretty responsive to those.
  16. Pro: The cops don't tend to see silver cars. Cons: Neither do other drivers, especially on hazy days, when your color matches the sky. Like today (at least, down here).
  17. Those things look cooler than my Aerio SX, because they got some design input from Porsche, IIRC. So: nice! And: I hate you. What color?
  18. Kerrygold Aged white cheddar with Irish stout -- and I forgot to mention yesterday I had some Kerrygold aged white cheddar with Irish whiskey which was superb! I only meant to eat half, but I ended up eating the whole thing.
  19. I lollered.

  21. I'm not familiar with Macs, but I can hazard a guess: look in your settings for ... audio out? digital out? See if it's hard set to 96. See if there's a setting in ...ac3 filter? Are you using that? Looks like it's under the main tab, "output format", set to "AS IS"? Looks like there might be a couple of settings there, if you're using it: I would love to help, but really need to be looking over your shoulder, alas. Look at the settings under SPDIF on the same tab as well, unclick the "restrict" rate if you're using it. EDIT: Assuming you're not using ac3 filter, it looks like the settings you need to be looking at are your audio settings. It should look something like this: ...only you want to set your output device to your SPDIF. If you can do that and take a screen shot, I'm sure I or someone here can tell you what to look for next, assuming you haven't figured it out yourself by that point.
  22. No, but now that you've said that, I have to consider it. Also, since you made me look, I did find a couple that are designed to be more "open": Howard Leight Another one
  23. Gas, "Microscopic", 9:54 of electronic bliss (recommended to everyone except those that have an aversion to synthesizers) -- free mp3 from last.fm
  24. Hey, I did allow for the possibility of magic... EDIT: And I didn't think of this until later, but source might also have been an issue.
