  1. That would be my guess, too -- they're probably dropping Yama's to go with a different distributorship.
  2. Pfff. (Bookmarks links anyway, just in case wins lottery.)
  3. They don't gotta know. And who insures at RMAF? There's some insane things going on at that show, if I'm thinking of the right one. And couldn't you rewire it (I.E. add resistors in crucial places) so that it travels effectively discharged, and then take the resistors out when you get there?
  4. A bunch of different instrumentals on YouTube and the like -- "La Petite Fille de la mer", "Reve", "Alpha" by Vangelis, and so on -- trying to figure out some of my more favorites.
  5. Dual box would be easier to ship, I would think. They could go in separate boxes if they got too overengineered.
  6. I my Calvin Kleins -- and not because of the name, but because of all my black jeans, they've managed to retain their black the longest. I don't know what they're using for the dye, but it's insane.
  7. Not a DAC, but the Oppo BDP-83SE could best it, I think. I'm also fairly fond of my MSB DAC's, but don't know if they've updated them yet (it's going on a decade-old design, at this point). Without having heard it, the Cambridge Audio 840c should be on your short list. The newly-minted 650BD doesn't have external input, alas, maybe look for whatever they place in an 800-series?
  8. Ray's Hellburger...with garlic and onions and bread & butter pickle chips.
  9. Even before the guy came out with the cape, I was thinking that she was channeling some of the energy and charisma of Morris Day/the Time. And there's nothing like having a crack backup band. Will definitely check that out.
  10. Mmm...now I want something with garlic. Might have to go out for a late lunch.
  11. The one with the partial erection, awb-vee-us-lee. ah-ah-eh-ih-aw; ah-ah-eh-ih-aw...
  12. That there is sig material.
  13. That means that, as a group, they stole/bought them and are selling them on eBay at a small profit.
  14. That actually looks really good -- scallops and seaweed/kelp/spinach/what is that? And what kind of gravy? Looks garlicky. Oh, and me: not a goddamn thing. Drinking on an empty stomach.
  15. For some reason, that image of them both leaning slightly to their right brings to mind "Cubik" by 808 State.
  16. I've got the most bizarre medley stuck in my head: Porcupine Tree, "Anesthetize"/Duran Duran, "Hungry Like the Wolf"
  17. Yeah, that "Nessun Dorma" is always a crowd favorite, innit?
  18. Glee (Joss Whedon's episode) -- a little weak, Neil Patrick Harris really can sing better than any of the cast. Plus, only one new song (?). But I'm not sorry I watched it. Favorite line:
  19. Holy shit, that would rock. (And I haven't really been following this thread religiously -- was having a hard time seeing past it as a big spoon. Also, not in the budget.)
  20. Wait, what? They have an app for that?
  21. No, it was recorded digitally, so I don't even know why they remastered it to HDCD -- sounds exactly the same to my (admittedly jaded) ears. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that if you do not intend to decode the HDCD, stay away from it.
  22. I'm not a religious person, so I didn't appreciate the religious aspect of this, but I enjoyed the rest of it. I wonder how much of it is true (both the data presented as fact, and the suppositions that he honestly admitted were still theory and being looked into)?
  23. Mike Oldfield's Amarok has some of that. (Of course, that goes all the way back to Tubular Bells, and he actually lost the one sudden dynamic shift when he re-recorded it.) Also, less so, Jeff Beck's "Star Cycle" from There & Back (I blew the speakers in my dad's Mercury Cougar back in the day with this track, but I did have it cranked pretty high.)
  24. I was more curious how it "looked" on the iPad. Also would be curious what the "lighter" app looks like on the iPad -- does it look like a napalm, or just a really big lighter (cf. spoon/shovel debate).
