  1. Wouldn't that sink your boat? And what is your boat doing in Oklahoma? I have over 5,000 CD's (probably thousands more), and over 2,000 records.
  2. Thanks for pointing me at this, Brent, probably wouldn't'a known it existed if you hadn't.

    Actually, yes.
  4. It's Weggy Ebby, just for the record.
  5. Oh yeah, it's completely old school.
  6. Yeah, I'll be curious whether or not you like them -- I definitely did not play it safe. But they're two of my favorite albums from the last 10 years, and they're within your sphere of listenability, so thought it worth the chance. Jin's -- yours was less of a chance. Hope you like the tin. Yeah, I really like that wrapping paper -- black, plus it has a vague paganistic flavor to it, though I think it's just supposed to be a reindeer, I thought it pleasantly dark. Got it at Borders two or three years back, went around to as many as I could, I am now set to wrap presents until the end times.
  7. You can delete them after you put them on the iPod (as long as you're not using the sync option) -- they're certainly recreatable.
  8. That's a little too much information.
  9. Frosted Mini Wheats, Cinnamon Streusel flavor. Probably nothing like spritzer's streusel, but it's sporting.
  10. Dew et. But as a link, not as an embedded image.

    A unicorn!
  12. Other than the complete lack of organization issue, of course. I don't envy anyone's. I do envy people who know what they like and get it -- people like Aardvark, Deepak, postjack, even Colin. And grawk of the multiple copies of one album fame. I admire their focus. But on the other hand, having so much music that you're constantly discovering new stuff within one's own collection is rewarding in an entirely different way. I've been accused of liking music that is less than best -- and it's true. But I think I had adopted Hirsch's rule of 'if you don't make some missteps/fall flat on your face, you're not trying hard enough to stretch your boundaries', subconsciously, before it was even formulated as a thought, much less stated out loud. I'm not saying everyone has to stretch their boundaries. But I do. I enjoy being surprised by something completely out of (my) left field. I also enjoy tried and true, of course, too.

Yeah, but does it come in leather?
  14. Yeah, it must be pretty depressing having EVERYONE EVERYWHERE ELSE HATE YOU. Oh, and: You know, I haven't been to Florida in recent memory, if I had, I could probably add it to my favorite places list, since I like ultra-temperate climates (Hawaii, San Diego, etc.).
  15. Well, then I'm glad I responded with more detail. It's just that people who know me and know my tastes in gear know that I like neutrality (that is, if they take the time to remember, which I myself am not so good at always), so I was kind of taken off guard that you understood it pretty much exactly opposite.
  16. That depends on whether or not 'x' was an even or odd number. Or zero.
  17. Oh, it is. Nate was just explaining that that was not what it was. ...if that makes any sense.
  18. And that's the same driver that they use in the 4070? What do you think of the 4070 enclosure? Do you think it'd be worth trying frankensteining a different driver in the 4070 enclosure? Or would it make more sense the other way around?
  19. No, not at all, don't put meanings to my words. My attitude about this has always been the same: if your equipment is 'boring', listen to more interesting music. No, my 'meh' reaction was not that they were neutral, but that they were too hard to drive well. We had several very good amps on hand, and it sounded best out of a preamp's headphone section. On all the tube amps, it sounded dark and undetailed. I personally love neutral headphones, and some of my favorite combinations have been neutral headphones out of neutral amps. Because I do happen to listen to very interesting music. 'Meh' doesn't mean boring, but just that it did not rate as highly as its pricetag would imply that it should.
  20. Yeah, I guess I was being too polite in my reactions initially. At the time, I said they were, "okay"; in hindsight -- I.E. now -- I give them only 'meh'.
  21. I've heard the HD800 only briefly, but not in meet conditions, I.E. I was indeed able to listen critically. HE90 by a wide margin. HE90 > HE60 > ... > HD650/HD600/HD580 (memory doesn't serve, they were all pretty close in family sound) > HD800 ... Not sure where the HD250 II goes, I haven't been able to find mine.
  22. Heck, they could even throw the two in together, plus some test runs, like the Blade Runner set.
  23. Also, it's not like the clothes probably didn't cost thousands of dollars each. ...and lakes. Lots of lakes.
  24. I'm about to put on some waffles.
  25. I think Aardvark's point was to replace the internal hard drive, thus rendering all this discussion as to which port to use moot. You could also use the network for the external drive.
