  1. On second thought, you're right, I should just buy another burner, and either put this in my older box or sell it off...anyone want an IDE lightscribe DVD burner?
  2. So I take it no-one disrecommends any of these, so I might as well go for whatever I feel like -- the cheapest, or one of the cheapest, since many of them go for $9-$12. Dan/Todd -- what was that product that made your IDE or SATA device into a USB device...except without the case? I'm thinking I should at least get the same manufacturer, since you're both happy with that product.
  3. x2, pretty much
  4. Or this one? (Half as much.)
  5. ...but I want the lightscribe -- my computer already has a burner.
  6. ...was what I was thinking of getting.
  7. I think it's the open wall on the one side that is screwing him up. Seems like a good place to use EQ, since it's probably changing the frequency response as well.
  8. Tapping the Vein are awesome -- Heather is one of my favorite vocalists in the genre, if not ever. She can go from little-girl coo to full-on scary scream in the course of a single song, and sound good no matter what she does. Ian will tell you more about Scarling...he's a fan, IIRC. I also heartily recommend Kidneythieves. Mediggy. If you're going to get Trickster, go ahead and get the Reprocess, I think (though I still haven't gotten it myself, yet). I've had Hungry Lucy on my radar forever, looks like I need to check them out. Jack Off Jill are industrial -- so of course mediggy. I forget Rhea's Obsession and Darling Violetta, although I have albums by both of them. Kittie and My Ruin head more into metal and nu-metal territory, IMHO.
  9. I have an IDE drive (DVD burner with lightscribe) that I'd like to use in my SATA-based machine (has no IDE whatsoever). Any adapters that you can recommend or disrecommend?
  10. Start with the head -- it makes the victim all...fuzzy.
  11. Anyone have any idea whether any of these are any good? For some reason, amazon is recommending it to me:
  12. You may also want to contact PartsConnexion. And no, it doesn't completely defeat the purpose*, just the primary reason. *He is right in that if he can get a DAC that would be compatible with the output stage, it is a good one, and we all know how important that is.
  13. x2 (on the blaming Ian)
  14. Happy Birthday!!!1!
  15. Please tell me you're kidding. EDIT: OMG
  16. No, I meant I have a cat for getting my headphones furrier. J/K...
  17. Bummer, dude.
  18. Oh, that's awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHU_4TLkkl4
  19. I think of her more as the girl next door with plain jane face who, when you finally get her home, has a smoking hot body and is a wildcat in bed.
  20. $350 receiver and speakers $150-$200 Blu-ray player (depending on whether or not you're willing to settle for a refurb) I mean, jesus christ, the best speakers we can come up with are at least ...what is it? The AudioEngine ones? So you're not going to be able to get those and a blu-ray player and a pre-pro...or speakers and a receiver (which is how I'd do it) for $500. I mean, come on! I recommend separating out the player and receiver, instead of getting a one-box solution -- heat is not a transport's best friend.
  21. I have a cat for that.
  22. Listening right now to Blue Man Group straight outta the iPod through ESW10's. Jesus, these sound good. I bet they don't scale for shit. So -- which ones seem to have variance from one to the next, that's the ESW9's, right, not these?
  23. Blue Man Group, The Complex Duggeh -- another one you should investigate if you haven't heard it yet -- very much reminds me of QE2 -- start with Audio first, though.
  24. Seagate 1TB for US$80 Cavalry 1TB with latex catsuit for US$90
