HD650 Loose Driver
The right driver in my HD650s is loose. If I wiggle the headphones around I can feel and hear it jiggling. Sometimes the cable gets a little disconnected and the music cuts out. It's starting to get annoying. I've never done anything DIY in audio, but I'm willing to try something to fix this. Any advice? Also, not sure if this should go in a different thread? Thanks all.

AKG K400 - what's similar new?
Alas, I don't have a lot to contribute due to my inexperience which is why I don't post very much, but I have lurked here for quite some time. Someday I hope to have enough money to spend on this hobby to have some sort of useful input.

I sort of want a pair of good closed phones
Thanks for the info. Now I'm just waiting for my stupid cable to sell so I have money for them.

I sort of want a pair of good closed phones
Anyone know how the Shure 840s compare to the AKG K271 MKIIs? I've been thinking about getting a pair of closed phones again so that I'm less annoying to my girlfriend.

Fixing An Aftermarket HD650 Cable
Hey everyone, haven't posted here in quite some time. I have an aftermarket Senn HD650 cable that is a bit messed up. The left headphone connection is shoddy, and keeps cutting out whenever I move my head. I've done tests to confirm that its the cable connection, because my stock cable works perfectly. I have next to no idea what I'm doing, so I contacted Zach Collier from Enigma Audio to fix it, but he hasn't gotten back to me. Any other ideas where I could reliably get this fixed?

This thread is amusing- spl meter
I don't have an iPhone unfortunately. So it seems that I shouldn't spend more to get the extech one. Thanks for saving me money- Ultimate Disc
I've never actually played a game of disc golf. But I have played a game of Ultimate Frisbee, many in fact. The Tufts club team is pretty good, it's lots of fun- Phiaton
I agree, they don't look like they sound good- spl meter
hey y'all I was just looking around, trying to figure out how loud (objectively) I listen to my music. I saw spl meters, and was wondering if those worked for headphones, like the HD650. If those do work for that application, which meter should I get? I was looking at the Radio Shack brand one, or this one: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Extech-407730-Decibel-Digital-Sound/dp/B000EWY67W/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_cart_2]Amazon.com: Extech 407730 40 Decibel to 130 Decibel Digital Sound Level Meter: Home Improvement[/ame] Let me know what's what. Thanks- Ultimate Disc
I thought this thread was talking about Ultimate Frisbee Discs. I was excited- Oh. My. God.

Google maps it. Yes, to google maps something is now a verb.- Westone 3 impressions?
I suppose, I was just very frustrated with this thread when I posted that.- Westone 3 impressions?
After reading through large portions of this thread, this is all complete bullshit. Discussions of headphones should NEVER lead to personal attacks. I think you're all wrong, even the mature people, even me. I'm amazingly wrong. I suppose it is human nature to create drama, because life is only interesting if there is drama right? (sarcasm). I generally read these forums to get information, but every so often I come across threads like this, (both on head-fi and here) and get extremely pessimistic about the human race. I feel like it wouldn't be so bad if a giant meteorite came and destroyed the earth, it would put us all out of each other's misery. I'm such a happy person! But seriously, why is there so much hatred? Share This With Anyone That Needs to Smile Today | Rich Prosperity and Success Blog- Contemplating a new DAC in the <$600 range
I got mine way back in August, actually it was 50 dollars more than the one that went recently, which I was still pleased with. Here's the thread: http://www.head-case.org/forums/home-source-components/4278-source-dilhemma.html that I started, but I got recommended the Parasound via PM.- Contemplating a new DAC in the <$600 range
I have a Parasound, which I like a lot, but I don't have anything to compare it to. When I was in a situation similar to yours I got pointed to Parasound by a fellow Head-Caser, and it seems their DACs are well respected by a bunch of people around here. Also, they can usually be found a bit under your price range.- Finding used CDs resources
There are a bunch of Newbury Comics stores up here in the Northeast, they have a pretty good selection of used and new stuff. I like 'em.- Your recent music purchases
Just bought this: The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails After hearing a lot of good things about this band from my ex-girlfriend, her sister, and you guys, I decided to give them (or I guess its mostly just Trent Reznor) a try.- HD800? Another rumor?
Also, the supposed Sennheiser email has terrible grammar, which I doubt would happen if Sennheiser really sent it. If Sennheiser really did send the OP an e-mail and he didn't copy and paste it, well... then fail.- Planning on picking up the ATH-W1000s or the ATH-AD1000PRMs... or something else?
Just adding my $0.02, the W1000s sound odd. They have decent clarity and all, but there's this strange sound signature that I strongly dislike. Like the instruments are echoing in the headphones.- Head-Case last.fm group
