  1. Yeah I know. I should have formulated my question differently: When I rip an album as I do now I just put in my laptop, say to iTunes import as ALAC with error correction. What advantage would Max give over iTunes as in better conversion or stuff?
  2. What does Max do better when ripping a cd to ALAC compared to iTunes with error correction? The only flacs I convert are the dl's btw.

  4. I convert FLAC to AIFF through Xact, load it in iTunes, convert it to ALAC, through the Duet --- amp --- and voila, music ( a little hassle but okay)

  6. Haha yeah, heard about it 20 minutes ago. They are a big step ahead of PS on this one.
  7. Well, I have been listening to large hps for around 7 yrs now of which the last 2 were the Sony V700 (ughh) and when the second pair broke I thought it was time to go looking for some really decent ones, qua build and sound (was too lazy for that after the first set went down). I was looking for something in the lines of HD600 but a closed version. I ended up really disliking them haha. Started looking on the net, found head-fi, got confused really fast, found out about the Prolines, got really happy, went to my first meet, totally lost it. A little over a year later I discovered Head-Case due to some linkin' and here I am, not regretting a dime
  8. That is a really generous offer which I would gladly accept when the time comes (we're not allergic to cats and had bids here too) Really thank you in advance for your hospitality! My bf is not really into headphones but a real gear person so he'll have a great time.
  9. Yep, that'll never change. And I'm still pretty happy with my Powerbook which is almost 5 yrs old, it's just getting a little slow though... It probably will accept an additional keyboard but I'm still not keen on that.
  10. Yeah, heard about that too. Not looking foward to losing a real keyboard though.. Yeah, i'm looking forward to that.. Just found out that there are already two successors of the Nehalem: Westmere & Sandy Bridge..it just goes too fast
  11. Congrats!! Looking foward to buying a new one too. In september they are supposed to come out with a new "revolutionary" product, not sure if that concerns MB(P)s or something different. The Montevino is supposed to be replaced by the Nehalem (tic-toc) around 2009 so maybe I'll wait for that one to come out first...20 to 50% speed increase while power demand is 10% less (depending on single thread or multi thread)...sounds pretty good.
  12. Have a great time people. Looking forward to your impressions already. As a sidenote, I convinced my boyfriend that a meet in America would be totally awesome so there might be a small tinywiny ubersmall chance that we'll attend the next CanJam (and travel through the US of A afterwards)...Winning the lotery would certainly help
  13. Cool! I was thinking of starting one myself here but wasn't sure so I didn't. If you would like to process slide as film why don't you start doing it yourself? Chems are still available and not that expensive. That is cheap for the velvia 50, wow. And it's a gorgeous film. Do post up the results, would love to see that. Good luck with the shooting!
  14. We went to the supermarket this morning to fetch some breakfast. Came home and ate some. Set in the sun for the rest of the day where I fell asleep in the end. Prepared dinner, or actually watched my bf do that, mussels hmmm, they still have to get cooked though, enjoying a nice glass of wine with Air playing on the background. A nice chilly sunday it is

  16. Thank you for sharing that thread. I've never read one that compared the 7 & 9's.
  17. A nice sandwich with cheese and rucola in between cooking. Just made a large pan of vegatable soup and am gonna start making the dough for the lasagna leaves in a few minutes...yumyum
  18. Oewww sweet! Congrats!
  19. Hmmm, weird...I heard of at least 2 other people who indeed suffered from the same. Never put much thought in it really but I'm glad it works for all browsers now.
  20. Thanx for the comments everyone About the french part; it's there on purpose (well of course ) coz I really love France and the language. I kept the rest in english to keep it readable for all sorts of nations and the french is not that difficult to understand the english meaning, I thought... Simple Viewer is really a nice piece of software. It can indeed be used as a plug-in for PS and it works really simple = Plug in, set a source folder, set an output folder and there it goes. Luckily I found a way to implement it in RapidWeaver which I used to build the site, so no, I didn't built it from scratch. My HTML knowledge is very low. Actually this is the first project I ever used self written HTML with. It's pretty cool though and I'm gonna try to learn how to make more stuff with that. So this site will change again as soon as I have found out more about it. Thanx again! Ow Nate, didn't the previous one work with FireFox?? I used FF sometimes and never ran across any problems..
  21. I sort of just finished it. Got tired of my old one and got really tired of all the scrolling so started working on a new one. What do you think? Is it better than the previous one? I'm still going to work on it to personalize it a little more as it's a little stiff for me but it's nice to hear some opinions on the usage / interface and the like. Maybe even ideas on things that might be missing.... Thanx in advance www.contrastique.com
