1. Happy Birthday!!
2. Happy Birthday!!!
3. Yeah, quite unexpected move for me too, I just happened to have a little luck and I'm enjoying it immensely so far; very clean, detailed, transparent and controlled. I'm listening to my brother's HD600 now and kind of like it. Maybe even considering losing the ED9s because I don't like their laid-back mids after getting used to my also recently acquired ESW9s; makes them sound weird. But don't know where to go..so something will change again soon too I guess
4. I just received my Rockhopper Balanced M3 yihaa!! Happy so far! Thank you ASR & Rockhopper for all your help!
5. No not extensively. Handled them at work a couple of times, the panoramic mode works surprisingly well, the photos seem really nice but haven't been in any circumstances to test the low-light performances and such, i.e. which would make it interesting.
6. I recently bought a S95 to have a compact one wherever I go. I like it. The only thing that I find a bit sucky is the white balance when using indoor light. Doesn't matter if it's on automatic or pre ,it just isn't very pretty. Totally different than the IXUS 400 from 6 yrs ago. Other than that; I love it. Other competitors in that same ballpark: Leica D-Lux 5 and Panasonic LX-5. I preferred the more compactness of the S95 (and its price) over those two.
7. Ow congrats! That's one great compact camera!
8. Nope. They still have to arrive ;-)
9. Well, it's been awhile but finally something audio again! Nothing big, nothing extreme but I'm looking forward to my first modest step in TubeLand: 2 Mullard CV4010 tubes for my Little Dot MKIII which was given to me a while ago.
10. Wow, that is just too weird. I find it most incredible that the company knew of nothing. How on earth can you be frauding THAT amount of money?? I find it hard to believe she was the only one in on it.
11. HaPpY bIrThDaY!!!!
12. Thank you all so much!!!! It surely was a great day which started with work haha! In the evening my parents and brothers visited us, we ate sushi and had a great evening/night. At 4:30 we decided it would be better to sleep a little And tomorrow we will be driving to Belgium to pick up the gift from my boyfriend: an iPhone 3Gs Yeayyyy!!!
13. Hey Dan Good to see you again here! Danjam, yeah I know. We really want to visit the States some day and I already missed that big one...sigh...will get back on that Yeah, already looked at that. Looking good but indeed, that price... Also a beautiful product but a little bit high in price...but very very pretty....and expensive....but very good lookin'...jolly Source is music via Airport Express via optical into the amp. We do need to buy a decent dac to avoid that crappy airport, so in the long shot it's probably better to invest in both separately, instead of combining them now. I'm kind of debating with myself what to do. Problem is photography is currently sucking up all my money and my boyfriend does not care as much as I do about sq....I can justify spending more money, he can't. Guess I really have to win the lottery now
14. Haha thanx for the heads up. I live in Europe and 120v will not work over here Hey Nate!! Long time no see Your tip certainly has all the functions we're longing for. Haven't found a dealer yet over here; wanna hear it first. Hey Jason!! How are you? Price range...I am not sure. I am trying to push my boyfriend's budget but he's not keen on spending a whole lot so the Cyrus will be over his limits. Unfortunately my next money will be necessary to buy chemicals so I'm not really able to boost up the level much. It decided to break down on a not to good moment, but when is it anyway No, not really. It's meant to be a stereo amp, no avr. Maybe, when looking at this longer, we could better focus on non-digital-input-amps as the choice is much broader (Bart is already looking at the Cambridge Azur 640A V2) and I could extend the setup with a separate decent DAC in the future. I was planning for that in the future anyway when my "ultimate" headphone rig is finished.
15. Hello all, It's been a while and I hope all of you are doing fine I am looking for some advice. The speaker amp broke down again and it's time for something more decent. The problem is we want to have a minimum of 2 (preferably) digital inputs to attach our sources to. It seems quite hard to find. Does anyone have an idea on where to look? Thanx in advance!
16. Thank you Dan for the link! Thank you Terry, as that is indeed what I'm doing besides finishing my graduating year. In short, I don't have any experience with MF on digital. I have never worked with MF digital and the way it looks now I never will. A sensor alone says nothing really. It's the processor that makes it work (or not). In general lines one could say that bigger sensors in DSLRs work better than their smaller brothers because they are trying to throw sooo many megapixels into one small bit that when looking at the signal-noise ratio FF beats APS-C hands down. When looking at MF digital I don't know how much the former statement counts...they are designed for a different purpose: studio photography mostly where the lighting is controlled and you (most of the time) don't really have to mess around with difficult lighting situations. That's really all I can say about it and already had been said here. I do work on MF now and even on LF since a few days (8x10" and it's brutally sexy!) but all film. And MF and LF on film can't be beat by anything, resolution-wise speaking though it's slower than digital but then again, I don't need the speed I use the bigger size because the small DOF is just brilliant, it's beautiful working with such equipment, it's a slow process which gives it even more beauty to me and photography becomes different in a way. You think a lot different now before taking a shot. Each shot becomes a stand-alone moment, more than before. Shooting 35mm film with an automatic F100 even when used on aperture-preference becomes boring and too fast for me to fully enjoy it. Anyway, I hope it mattered but I guess it's all been said.
17. Yup
18. Haha, I guess that means no, although the lying part seems reasonable enough Nahh, I just have to make it to the real CanJam one day
19. Yayyyyyyy!!!!!! Yayyyyyyy!!!!!! Man, that would be sooo totally cool ;D And Sergei, it looks like coffeeshops will still exist next year when looking at the WeedTop they had in Almere (or Almelo whatever)
20. Ohh That would be awesome!!!!! I'll see if I can push the date towards April but it seems that is preferred already so
21. I am not sure if one wants to keep track of it and maybe even wants to think about joining "the Big One" but here's a link to the thread where we're currently debating...well..certain stuff Netherlands meet - Page 9 - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio It's covering the talk about 2 meets: A Pre-Party-for-the-unpatient-ones somewhere in the beginning of the year and a "CanJam-Ass-Kicker" (not that that is possible ) but it'll most likely be around May-April.
22. wow...people are wondering where I went...wow..sweet Well, here I am maybe again a bit. Just to update, yes I "left" for the reason Dan mentioned. It's quite amazing that when you stop visiting your online-life you come to realize there's a real life too haha! So I got caught up with it which is a good thing. I have found a million things to do of which my computer no longer is a big part since I solely work analogue now. I did join DeviantArt recently to pimp my artsy-fartsy-online-whatever-something. Visiting HF and HC every once in a while is weird as it's quite difficult following up on stuff which I used to do a lot. And if you don't know what to follow when you take a peek, well, you're done quite soon I still love my Ed9, best buy ever. Still debating my 750s but when money comes so will the proper advice haha! But I am quite derailing the thread I suppose, so juist to say cheers to you all and thanx for thinking about me
23. Hey ThanX! The left enlarger is my first one, the Durst M605 and the one on the right is the one I use now, the Durst DA900. I have several lenses, but I lost a really nice one, Schneider 50mm 2.8 if I recall correctly, during all my moving some yrs ago. My collection currently holds: Rodenstock Rodagon 50mm f2.8 Schneider Durst Componon 50mm f4 Schneider Componon-S 80mm f5.6 Schneider Componon-S 100mm f5.6 Schneider Comparon 105mm f4.5 Rodenstock Rodagon 135mm f5.6 I don't know if they are all that good. 2 of them came with the DA900, 2 of them I bought over the internet and 2 of them I got from Samgotit over at Head-Fi. They unfortunately don't all fit the DA900 but I still have to look into that properly to see if I can make it work. Ow, and nice tune-up Iron Dreamer!
24. I thought you already were familiar with those concepts that's why I don't understand your question. Thanx. It's the nicest one I've ever had especially with the running (hot) water. I still shoot mostly 35mm film. I tried the RolleiCord that crossed my path recently and it appeared the shutter leaks light. The Minolta TLR doesn't work properly too, as does the Ikonflex, the Rolleiflex etc so that's kind of a bummer. Now that I've tasted the 6x6 format outside and at home I am sold and I want to work with that in the future. I just bought an ed9 lately and my cash is sort of failing short now haha! I have an 8X10" wooden camera waiting for me to pick it up so we might have some interesting things soon yeah!! My enlarger"unfortunately" just prints till 6x9.. Qua type of film..I used to work with Kodak Tri-X but since I found out the Kodak Technical Pan films I am using Rollei ATP and might be using Gigabit TP in the future, depending on how it rolls. Good luck with setting up a darkroom !!!
