  1. First of all: Hi again everyone The larger the amount of mm (35mm -> 50mm -> 85mm) the less DOF you have. Try that shot again but than using an aperture of 8 or 11. The cat should be in focus completely. In order to do it even better you should focus about one third of the cat and you should have zero problems at all. About that cloud stuff, you could also work with a filter that is halfgrey. The half grey part used for the sky to decrease contrast between the 2 parts. So, from digital to analog, my darkroom is nearly finished. I just need to fix the safelights, the power for the electrical components and we're all set to go. Needless to say I am more than happy ---> digital =byebye
  2. First, Vicky cheers for having the ability to express your feelings in such a delicate yet straight to the point manner. I wish I could do it like that. Second, I am really tired of this. I tried to ignore Germania over on HF which went pretty well till she invaded the Ultrasone thread with her cable bs. I again got caught up in it too much. There were times I wished she would sign up here so we / I could tell her how I felt without moderation, although the puking face over at HF sure managed to stay long enough to reach Stacey's eye and deliver the message. Unfortunately there is a difference between getting the message and understanding it, the latter definitely not one of her capabilities. Now that she finally signed up I have to say I am not as happy as I thought I would be. Clearly she is only here to stir up the pot as her posts prove nothing short of that. She even lied about her reason to sign up to this place. And I am just simply sick and tired of looking at her username. Already was at HF and now here. Yay. I guess I should be going now. Good luck, Stacey, with further screwing up everything you touch.
  3. Probably both. Ow and I think your first comment is spot on.
  4. I think that is just too much to ask. She first will need to find it.
  5. OW PALEAZUUU
  6. Good luck to all of you who may be dealing with a hurricane.
  7. I'm at home floored by the flu. Bloody boring and tiring. Plenty of time listening to hps though If only I would get in the mood for that
  8. You have some nice surroundings there in The States. I would love to see that myself one day. Meet my new camera (the one on the right): My boyfriend picked up a box from where he had his own photography store before he joined his dad. 2 Rolleicords came along of which this one is in the best condition. I added it to my collection so now I can experiment with 6x6 for real! We have to go there soon coz there all still like 20 boxes left with cameras, 2 Leitz projectors and 2 large format (8x10") cameras, the latter probably not functioning anymore. Really awesome playing around with that old stuff. Lot's of unfamiliar brands, lot's of solutions to "problems" nobody even wonders about anymore with all these cameras that take care of everything without you having to think about how things work or know when to press the shutter-release button. Long live smile detection nowadays

  10. Yup, I love it. It's everything you've said. At work we have this professional coffee making machine which grinds the beans and kind of looks like this: That coffee certainly is better and hotter but the Nespresso does a pretty good job. No filter coffee ever for me again
  11. You folks have just too many events to be jealous about
  12. Wauw...I always feel so lazy when I read posts like that from you
  13. 2 of these: Finally able to get them from the States. Only $250 shipment cost so pretty doable but they are what I want and you can't them over here.. Hopefully they'll be here next week or so, they are supposed to be on their way now yihaa!
  14. I like watching people vomit from Tequila But wow, what a collection, you must like it a lot
  15. Congrats Pete!! She looks lovely !
  16. HaPpY (?belated?) bIrThDaY !!!
  17. The Phonitor sure can eat headphones haha! It does look a tad smaller than I anticipated at first from the pics. Listprice you mentioned is 1349 something but it's ex. VAT. Hans said it would go for around
  18. It's a headphone monitoring amp by SPL: In Short: Sound Performance Lab
  19. Hey, you're not the only one with an opinion It's too early for me to make decent impressions; they are not fully burned in and neither am I. I do absolutely like them. My search is over. No more eq-ing needed, hollowness is gone, a tad recessed midrange still present but I have to give them more time. I listened to a fully burned in pair paired with the Phonitor and I know source & amp combo can make up for that midrange so no worries on my side. About that song, still have to work out some practical issues, such as I don't have a videocamera but you can expect something from me soon, a song though...I am not sure... I would kill your ears haha!!
  20. Just to show how happy I am again: ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  21. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D With a little lot help from my friend I am now the proud owner of the Edition 9 #338. Search is over and me is happydipappy Yihaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa So I did went to Hans in the end when it got clear I had been abled to buy it. After a comparism between the 750 and the 9 I made the decision final. Sarjeev, I guess I'll have to pick a song now, I'm just too busy listening haha! I did also listen to the SPL Phonitor connected to a Naim cdp with the ed9. The setup sounded pretty awesome. High resolution, powerful sound, pretty neutral sound, highly detailed, nice placement of instruments and vocals and it sounded very very controlled. But keep in mind, I have never heard the Naim cdp, never heard the Phonitor and still have to get to really know the Ed9 and I only listened to 1 album for quite a short time so it's not a real helpfull impression. I did like what I heard however. I listened to "Amused to Death" by Roger Waters as I know the album pretty well. Wohoaaaa I off listening to God playing in my ears!!!! Kiddy kiddy needs no more eq-ing no no
  22. It's really true. They enforced the rule past July the 1st. I had mixed feelings at first, certainly when thinking bar but now I'm glad.
  23. Haha gun laws are fine here. You're not permitted to have a gun for "fun" and thank god, coz I would have killed the plumber today arhhhhggg he's screwing up the walls in the cellar which we just got fixed. It's all dirty now and he actually managed to drive a hole in one of them !@#$%^&*^%$#@! He recently had a stroke so that's why he's not so "on the edge" anymore and I won't freak out against him but I am a little pissed There is also not that much tobacco advertisment here as it's forbidden by law too. You're not allowed to smoke in bars or restaurants anymore so that will make it more easier than it used to be....we'll see...
  24. Well, something changed again and I might post up something nice later on the day I am fockin' excited!!!!
  25. Hm, I was supposed to go to Hans today but he called it off last night coz he overlooked his agenda and the listeningroom is already taken, shoit. So, no impressions today on what so ever..
