We're not everyone in the world. We're a group of friends. That is how society works. If there's nothing tying a group of people together in the real world, they're not a group of people in the real world.
I'd argue that head-case IS a better reflection of real society than other web forums. We expect people to behave as if they were actually around the people they're talking to. And hold them to what they say.
It just goes to show, no matter how long people are around here, not everyone appreciates the "it's a bar where people who like headphones hang out" thing.
That said, sometimes people ramble on about something they really care about and no one else does in bars, too.
