yes, the ipad can substitute for the monitor/keyboard/mouse except when there are network problems. I can recommend the dinovo mini keyboard for those occassions, but you'll also need a display of some sort.

Itunes Remote on the touch/iphone is a great interface to itunes, and should work well with amarra.
