The calendar and the contacts from an external source would go away completely once you turned off the account, and changes made wouldn't affect that calendar. I have a me.com and a gmail.com account synced with my ipad and iphone. If I turn off one or the other, the details from that account goes away completely. When you turn them back on, they come back.

if you sync your contacts/calendar elsewhere, just turn off that account when you're using it elsewhere

your statements don't match the licenses for software on my work computer, which is a large gov't owned system. I've never seen a license which states what authorized users are allowed to use the software for, just that it needs to be restricted to authorized users.

Sprint announced the pricing yesterday for the evo 4g. $200 for the phone, and basically $100 a month if you want to use it as a wifi router too ($29 a month option). So basically, I'm not going there in the near term.

you can replace the drives. It's a pain in the ass, but it's possible. ifixit.com has instructions, parts are available on ebay.

that new 4g looks a lot more refined than the last one. The lack of screws makes a difference to me I guess... I got to see the new version of the iphone os today (the guy at the shop I had my car inspected had it, oddly enough). The multitasking works pretty well, and there's now a zoom on the camera.
