  1. Well there ya go
  2. Might be cheaper to just buy a sata burner
  3. For bedroom you could pretty easily get away with one of the mini 5.1 systems, I'd think. Those are pretty doable for $500, leaving money for a bluray player. I'd check videogon for recommendations.
  4. That's what it seems like to me. I'd explore every avenue you have for getting your money back.
  5. happy birthday naaman
  6. Scroll down a bit zach, it's now a $1000 budget
  7. Ok, so let me get this straight: You paid $900 for a very old dac, and now you want to replace the dac part of it since it's bad. No chance you can just return it?
  8. In your budget, it doesn't matter, get whatever's cheap
  9. I should also say that at this point, I also wouldn't pay extra for bluray yet. I'd take the extra cost of the bluray player, and put it towards better speakers. The bluray players will only get cheaper, and better.
  10. You're probably better off going 2.1 for home theater for bang for the buck. Add surround as you can afford it, but you'll do better maximizing your money on the front 2 to begin with.
  11. Shrug, the atoms aren't for gaming. For most other things, they're decent.
  12. A decent cheap ht receiver that has what you need + Home Theater Direct middy and flat panel speakers and a sub.
  13. correct
  14. given that space is the last thing I look for in headphones, it's not surprising that I didn't find that out about the 701s...when I want space, I tend to listen to speakers.
  15. I thought the 701s were technically good, but uninvolving. It doesn't do anything partciularly wrong (except bass response), but it just doesn't do anything particularly well, either.
  16. sowter is for SE/BALANCED, it's not a power transformer
  17. I wouldnt' have thought the 120 would be light enough, or the WWS to be dense enough to do a black and tan. Did it layer, or just mix?
  18. What sucks about it for you? I use it for email, calendaring, idisk, and contact syncing, and all work pretty well for me.
  19. thanks
  20. The dell mini9 runs leopard really well, too.
  21. Ok, I'll rephrase. If you don't shape up, you're gonna get time to read more.
  22. It'd take about 40 cups of green tea to make up for 3-4 cups of coffee if you brew the coffee the way I do.
  23. Perhaps you'd be happier at headfi?
