Happy Birthday Larry and congratulations to both of your children. I spent a good chunk of today, the third day of our spring break, replacing wires between the satellite antenna and the switch and receivers. Our lovely new dog just loves the taste of RG-6u. The rest of the day was spent cleaning gutters and the refuse from the winter's ice storms. Can't wait for spring break to be over so I can get some rest.

Next up is a Bourbon Dynasty 2 oz Bourbon 1 oz Lillet (white) 1 tsp crème de cassis 2 dashes of Peychaud’s bitters lemon peel (garnish) Stir with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Twist a piece of lemon peel over top, releasing the oils and drop in drink. Sit back and enjoy.

Still trying to finish off some near empty bottles so I needed a gin drink and went with the Petruchio Cocktail 1 oz gin (1 1/2 oz Northshore #6) 1 oz Aperol (1 1/2 oz) ½ oz lemon juice (3/4 oz) 1 dash of simple syrup 2 dashes Fee’s orange bitters 1 egg white Place all ingredients in a tin and frappe. Add ice and shake until your arms hurt. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

I'm not totally opposed to 80 proof alcohol. I can always just mix up two.

I'm still reserving judgement. One note against it is that it is only 80 proof. Now if you are selling it as a prohibition recipe rye then I would have expected a higher proof. I will likely do some ungarnished and unvarnished tasting this evening.

Nice Al, I almost tried that one myself. Way to triumph over the Eagle Dinny Now, The Fourth Regiment Cocktail 3 oz rye whiskey 1 oz sweet vermouth 1 dash celery bitters 1 dash Angostura bitters 1 dash orange bitters Stir with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime twist.

A Manhattan (perfect) (Inspired by Dan) 2 oz Templeton Rye 1/2 oz Dolin Dry Vermouth 1/2 oz Carpano Antica 3 dashes Cherry Bitters Stir until icy cold then strain into a pre chilled cocktail glass. Using the Carpano with a weak flavored whiskey leaves the drink tasting too much like Carpano for me. I have noted the same with the Vya dry. To test it yourself make yourself a Vodkatini with the Vya dry. That Hercules looks awesome Marc. I will be gathering ingredients for some after we return from the Biggie Apple so you should expect an upcoming PM. Now drinking a DOTU approved Odd McIntyre 1 oz each Germain Robin, Cocchi Americano, Cointreau and Lemon Juice then shake and double strain into a cocktail glass. Hoop La! Frank Sullivan!
