  1. ^^^ That is officially awesome. We needed that when we were having martini parties and we worked on the DOE Savannah River Site.
  2. Yep, my Drobo is USB only and non-networked. For networked drives I would look elsewhere as the Drobo seem a bit pricey. You could hook it up to an airport extreme or express via USB, but I would not expect it to be a speed demon.
  3. Apple does have one important advantage, they are still in business.
  4. I drank it, but thankfully to excess, so I do not remember it.
  5. I see your point but this old Samsung laser printer has stupidly long lasting and cheap toner cartridges. The airport express is not acting as a router as I simply added it to the extreme network so it is simply acting as a wireless print queue for the Samsung. Plus it's made by Apple so it also injects unicorn dust into my wireless network, which is priceless.
  6. Bloody Mary Snack (see the "What are you drinking" thread).
  7. Apple airport express (Thanks Dan).
  8. Doh! I always forget that the express can easily be used as a printserver. Nevermind.
  9. So just finished up replacing the old Belkin wireless router with an Airport Extreme. Nice upgrade in terms of speed, range and stability. I do have one slight incompatibility. The Belkin had WPA security and the Airport can use WPA2, which I prefer. My Netgear wireless printserver (WGPS606) worked fine on WPA but will not do WPA2 security. Since everything else works fine with WPA2, I do not want to downgrade the security protocol. So I am looking for recommendations for wireless print servers that do WPA2. Note, I cannot hook the printer up to the Airport as they are located in different parts of the house.

^^^ Those two things are not mutually exclusive, but I will take your word for it
  11. Cool beans. Hope you delivered a nice polemic on Britt's donuts during your chat.

    Warning! Warning! alert!
  13. Heh, I'm safe from temptation since they are using juniper berries for flavoring.
  14. Stayed up to three last night (this morning) moving stuff back into the office after we painted. Now going through a lot of it, determining it's shit and throwing it out.
  15. Congrats on the move Matt. I second Vicki's advice, get a rug and get the music going. @Mike - I see trouble on the horizon, a daughter at UF and a son at FSU
  16. The innocase for the evo does not add much bulk and has a nice compromise between rubbery lint magnet and slick plastic accident waiting to happen. Don't think it will protect it from a fall from 6 ft onto concrete though.
  17. x2 plus a few CDs since they were ordered from Amazon.
  18. Oops! Forgot to congratulate Brent. I will have a biscuit in your honor.
  19. Heh. That's a statement I make every time I buy a new tool. Not that I have any tool as awesome as that mill.
  20. Glad everything worked out Nate and Craig, I know it won't make you feel any better but glacial is the default speed of every academic institution I have been associated or dealt with. Eventually, they do get the job done.
  21. If you had an iPhone 4 the call would have been dropped anyway.
  22. Since this is their flagship product I would expect that not only would it be their top priority, but they would be bending over backwards to make things right. Good luck Al, I'm sure the wait, while frustrating will be rewarded with awesome sound.
  23. I'm going to also say go with something you are likely to carry with you. Most of our pictures are stills and they are taken with our phone cameras or my wifes Nikon P90. If I was looking for a camera now I would probably get a micro 4/3 like the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G10.
  24. Finally had enough free time today to install a boot camp partition with Windows 7 and Parallels 5.0 on the Mac Pro at work. Parallels is spiffy.
