  1. Are you talking about ink-jet printer inks? Most are dye-based and mostly use organic pigments. Some "long-life" inks are pigment based.
  2. x2, especially if my little idea never comes to fruition.
  3. It should accept 24/192 over toslink. My desktop portable accepts 24/192 over toslink. I send 16/44.1 from my squeezebox to my upsampler and then send 24/192 or 24/176.4 to the desktop portable DAC using either coax or toslink SPDIF. There are also protocols that use toslink besides SPDIF such as ADAT that Dusty linked to.
  4. Yep looks like rear outputs to me. They pretty much had to do that or else it simply does not fit into the audiophile desktop.
  5. That's a "smokin'" deal
  6. I do to .... Whom should I call?
  7. That is one sexy amp. But I do see a family resemblance between this and the BA, even if the BA may be the illegitimate stepchild. This will be making it to Chiunifi III. Somehow that seems rather apropos Also, just to clear things up, the images are not my actual amp as I ordered a 307A model not an AD1. Craig was simply nice enough to send those to me so I could see what the final casework looked like.
  8. Those are impressively nice speakers and with the tweed grill covers they will have an even higher WAF. Nice listening impressions also, I may need to find somewhere to listen to these.
  9. OK, I was hoping maybe they changed something, but my impression was just meh. Not trully horrible, but certainly nothing special. I was worried that I had become jaded.
  10. Thanks and more thanks.
  11. Nice pictures. Some very nice eye-candy there. I will be interested in the impressions especially regarding the Little Dot MKIV and BHSE.
  12. But that's what makes him fun.
  13. Well someone had to do it.
  14. I'm trying to lose weight.
  15. Chinese light bulb 6SN7 More original than Preamp/Headphones, Better than crowding the front/better ergonomics, I totally agree
  16. A couple of pictures from Craig to get it started: Very Moth-esque.
  17. 1 billion
  18. Happy colonoscopy ..err.. Birthday
  19. Happy Birthday Al. You are atrue Head-Case
  20. Yep, got it. No beer but I'll buy you a bourbon at CanJam. Got to be true to that "southern heritage" and all.
  21. Always a possibility, but the liklihood seems rather low.
  22. That is because they leapfrog each other when they introduce new models. It has always been like that, but is more noticeable now with the increased frequency of model upgrades.
  23. That's the way I read it. Ooops. Looks like somebody woke up with a weasel up their bum! Oh! and before you say it, I'm proud of my Edit: Just noticed the new, err... custom title. Blue once but never green.
  24. I would second Nates recommendation. The D80 is a very good camera, still pretty light, but not too light for handholding (a problem with my D50) and can be had with some smoking deals. I just received the 18-200VR and I must say, this is not your fathers zoom lens. The VR technology seems to have matured and really makes handholding realistic for many situations that previously required a tripod.
