  1. I've been using Windows 7 for a few weeks now. It's okay, other than the fact that I'm getting blue screens. Which I almost never got with XP, which is what I was using before. Used Vista for a couple of weeks, then upgraded back to XP. Might do the same with Windows 7. Anyway, the point of my post here is that Firefox seems to be a lot better about memory management in 7 than in XP, for whatever reason. Haven't yet tried Chrome.
  2. I guess not, but I have a bizarre perversion to audio tomfoolery and seriously think reading this is better for me than other forms of wasting time, like watching TV or playing videogames.
  3. Seems legit, I think Patrick82 is manning this thing? Coconut-Audio Be sure to check out all the other pages, including the ear conditioning. Everything is pure genius.
  4. Congrats on realizing the need to find something worth doing, and best of luck to you, Doug. You don't know how many times I've almost quit music entirely to concentrate on mediocrity in the engineering profession, but I just can't seem to do it because I'm a bit of an idiot. I'd say you have a much larger chances of success.
  5. overkill for his purposes
  6. He's already banned so there won't be anything new, but I think I'm going to enjoy rereading this thread for some time.
  7. I meant bagels when I said bowls. But I'm pretty sure changing the pads would make things even worse. And you couldn't fit as big plants.
  8. The GS1000 and PS1000 are better suited to the bowls being filled with soil to grow little plants in than to be listened to. No amount of burn-in will change the frequency response enough to get rid of the measured 10dB hump in the bass and in the treble, and no amount of shitspeak from a fucktard recording engineer who "trusts his own hearing" will lead me to believe that it requires an absurd amount of hours (400+??) to burn-in a headphone when there are little to no measurable differences.
  9. Something moar betterer: Fits me to a fricking T.
  10. I do have to say, if I hated the world a bit more, I might actually enjoy some of it.
  11. Prepare to be disturbed... or don't click the link Disturbing Simpsons - Imgur
  12. I had some awesome korean food yesterday. Haemul pajeon, bibimbap, and some sort of galbi. And some stir fry squid. And of course a variety of appetizers of which I don't know the name.

  17. Check to see if you actually are maxing out your RAM and end up scratching onto the hard disk. It might be sluggish just due to not having enough processing power, either with the CPU or graphics card. You might even be maxing out the memory on your graphics card, though doubtful. Also check the speed of your RAM and the timings. Also make sure nothing is overheating. I hear that's a problem with MBP's and it'll definitely sap power.
  18. Any real reason to get black Mk1 pads? Other than to hopefully pay less than for Mk2 pads, or... the color (or lack thereof)? My ESP10 sounds surprisingly good with the O2 Mk1 pads but eventually I may have to break down and get black pads, because brown pads on an otherwise black headphone is a bit ick.

Is this before or after you've had to herd a bunch of cattle in the wilderness while encountering various life-threatening situations?
  20. And uh.. shinier. At least they went in the right direction with impedance, it's up to 70 ohms now. I wonder what they did to achieve it, since it looks like they practically plated the whole diaphragm with gold. Maybe I just can't tell from the pics that it's a really long fine trace.
  21. Anyone know what benefits using gold (vs. aluminium) traces has? Other than lack of oxidation.
