  1. You wouldn't happen to have anyone in mind, would you? Maybe someone who uh, likes a certain AKG headphone that is in current production? And who also has a "girlfriend"?
  2. I'm not, I have to play for someone's wedding on Saturday and hopefully schedule a lesson. And also catch up on work from last weekend.
  3. I think the HM-801 would go really well with the Monster Turbines.

Yes, he was testing them while I was in there. I left before he finished, though, since I think it was around then that the second raffle thing was going on.

You guys are making me hungry. Want some duck fat fries so bad right now. And great pics all, thanks for posting them.
  7. There's a certain thread that you probably shouldn't read until you finish your review... indirectly linked on HF from ABI: Hifiman HM-801 RMAA Tests - Head-Fi.org Community

Yeah, and then we shot the bull with that Zodiac salesman while sipping the "special tea", and he said were blowing his mind. Made my morning, for sure. To this day I have not experienced the effects of a hangover. Btw, it was totally not my idea to open the Tactical Nuclear Penguin. I was very adamant in not wanting to open it up until the end, despite being piss drunk.
  9. Or maybe he just has good taste.

No comment on that one. If you knew how wasted I was at that point (which you will if/when Fitz uploads those vids)... I don't remember if this is before or after Jacob made me chug an entire glass of red vodka. Btw, love that shot of Al the Bartender mixing said infamous red vodka.
  11. Indeed. I was back up and into the fray in a mere few hours thanks to that.

  13. There's no doubt the T2 is in another league compared to the WES. It's a good thing for Woo the two weren't in the same room. Didn't stop my ass from being sore the next morning.
  14. Congrats to Fitz on coming out! This was the first time I met you so I didn't notice that you were more social and such than usual, but good on you and you're a great guy. I totally (sort of but not really) called it
  15. jvlgato's LP of Heifetz + Reiner, Tchaikovsky Concerto. Good stuff man, thanks again.
  16. Well you have to have a bit of hearing memory and just the RS1 in question to do it. First convert the sound to mono so both sides are playing the same stuff. Flip the balance control so only the left channel is playing, listen to it with your left ear. Turn your headphones around so the right channel is on your left ear and change the balance controls so it plays out of the right channel that is now on your left ear. You can do this with your right ear as well to confirm.
  17. Or if someone is a douchebag and pours water all over your shit. Sorry about what happened, KG, if I find out who it is I'll kick them in the nuts for you. Of course, if you find out who it is, much worse things may happen...
  18. I think they are, the serial number is pretty small so it's right after they started... well, using serial numbers. Try using the balance controls to play only one driver at a time and swap channels and such to see if you hear a difference. If you don't, maybe one driver screen thing was more prone to getting pink than the other? But yeah, x2 on what luvdunhill said.
  19. Who knows, it may have been whatever source the Luxman was hooked up to in Todd's room, but there is no question in my mind they sounded bright and thin to me in that combo.
  20. Birgir, I noticed that bit of bass bloat as well which is rampant among stock vintage orthos (and even much more severe, in some cases). Of course it could be fixed by damping which would also bring up the treble a little but I'm wondering if it might have also been because of the Cavalli amp it was hooked up to. Hey there, we definitely wouldn't mind if you would post more. I'm that tall skinny Asian dude with the vintage electrostats. If you would try slapping a layer of felt over the backs of the LCD2 drivers like I think you did with the LCD1, you might find things sound even better. But of course I wouldn't ask you to modify them in the production LCD2s since there would be different "versions" since people are lazy and can't be bothered to put it in themselves. Just a random suggestion from a weirdo, you don't have to try or change anything since it's clear many people are very enamored with them already. Meanwhile, I'm so loving the fact that I have another T40v1. They aren't the best at any one thing and they are closed but damn, something with them just jives with me. I'll take my sweet time really tuning them in the next couple of months.

I forgot to mention something, and am just picking a random thread to write it in. Many apologies to Brent for the many drunk calls (one for each).
  22. Rubbery is my favorite one for the 404LE. Listened to it on the T2 and it's still there. Yeah, something like that.
  23. Darn, if I had known a pair was going to be there I definitely would have listened. I made sure to listen to some GS1000s and PS1000s and there are no words to describe how horrid they sound...
  24. Sig figs, bitches.
  25. And my having -==-'s baby would solve the BP oil crisis, as long as the baby sinks instead of floats. But I don't know what will come out, the baby or the tumor.
