  1. Empalot - Tous aux Cepes Interesting... I dig it a lot, actually. Duplantier bros from Gojira. Edit: I know what it kind of reminds me of: Primus! I love Primus. And Gojira. I love Gojira.
  2. Except for the 10dB difference between bass/mids and treble.
  3. Yeah, there's probably just enough material to cover the pubes.
  4. re: Mastodon, there's something distinctly not metal about the vocals. Punky or maybe indie. I guess that's why hipsters like them. Looked up Toki Asako on youtube from the toe album and found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xxgm7_TJBso
  5. I definitely want to hear these at CanJam. Good to know there are no obvious reflections. Though if it really is a dark HD650/O2 type sound, first thing I'll want to do is to throw in some felt.
  6. Be glad he actually helped you and tried to look amicable. A fucking dipshit of a twat tried to get me kicked off the plane when I told him not to move my luggage in cargo holds all over the fucking plane.
  7. I think they're reminiscent just in the boxiness. The Quarts kind of look more similar:
  8. Head-Case, never (hopefully). Definitely stole the look from the B&O U70, but was then beaten with an ugly stick for being a bad kid. Or just given a variety of fruity colors.
  9. Agreed, needless built-in reflex "dot". If I want one, I'll open it up and put one in myself, thank you very much. Otherwise I'm glad they decided their headphones making people look like aliens was a bad idea.
  10. Thanks for the reminder, I need to check me out some Mastodon.

  14. You don't think it would have anything to do with the ESLs needing a dedicated room, special amplification, costing a lot more, and being much rare, would you? Along with most of the vintage ESLs needing some sort of repair work to bring up to snuff. It's true. 6 ft tall min, but something like this is better: I need to take a pic of me + my speakers. I've been saying it all along with all the 'stat headphones I've owned, and I'll say it again with my Acoustats: if you think 'stats lack bass after hearing them there is something wrong with your hearing.
  15. Anything more specific, like different grains, differences between pig, lamb, goat, places to get them online, etc?
  16. People with experience in making leather earpads: what kind of leather is best for this job and is cowhide supple enough? I actually don't need that good of leather, I'm just using it to cram in the "earpads" I have now to replace the extremely acoustically leaky foam, so may need something thick, but actually maybe not as I may want to experiment with making pads later on.
  17. Nice Still trying to decide if I should go to the concert in Richmond coming up.
  18. Doesn't have a DAC or amp or anything, but have you considered something like a pair of these in the same price range?
  19. Played through most of Schoenberg 1st quartet in D with other peepz yesterday. Practicing some solo Ysaye now.
  20. I look forward to your progress and eventual completion of the dipole subs, and how well they integrate with the 57. Are you ever considering building a direct drive ESL amp at some point in time? Yes I realize that wouldn't work so well with the subs so I think I answered my own question.
  21. I definitely agree with you on the "suckout" part. Perhaps you could have tried the Lambda Pro on the BH as well, for equal footing. I doubt the Lambda Pro somehow has limits and doesn't improve past the T1.
  22. Some dude sitting next to me is snoozing while listening to some loudass Biggie through his iBuds. At least he's listening to some good hip hop.
  23. I just assumed that was what people meant when they said the BH "wakes" the O2 up, along with getting rid of the bloated mushiness. Wasn't referring to anything you said in particular. I didn't say the 404 had hard hitting bass, just that it had more of it than the Pro. The 404LE has a big thump going on, with a minor boost in the low bass, which could be considered hard-hitting except it sounds like rubber. My hearing must be seriously wonky since I just don't hear things some people mention and with others hear things that are quite obvious to me that others don't hear.
