The cheap construction of the headphones, prices, QC, the ridiculous frequency response graphs of the GS1000 and PS1000, the fact that most of them use the same drivers but "tweaked", some of the people that own them, the whole vintage sounds better than new which makes the market prices crazy, people taking advantage of the HF1 and HF2, to list some of them.

What about the HD800? That fell pretty fast. About what I said before, I don't hate it in any way. I just find it inferior to pretty much all of the headphones I own that also happen to have cost less than it costs.

Might as well go Stax, SR-001 Mk2 may suit your needs unless you're not a fan of sticking things in your ears. From all accounts it's the opposite of thin sounding, which I don't know if you'd like. Sorry, but every time I think of Grado headphones I just shake my head.

There's a small bump in I think the upper midrange/lower treble, along with rolled off bass and treble. The pads along with the foam disc make things slightly muddy and lifeless.

Yeah, it's usually the other people out and about that ruin it, although driving around neighborhood roads with snow kind of sucks. I already hate driving when it's raining since people go a lot slower and still manage to crash into everything. Procrastination ftw indeed. I have no idea why we bought that snowblower.

I have to admit that I have not heard his version of solo Bach. I think I've only heard Perlman, Heifetz, Szeryng, Hahn, Podger, Milstein, and Mullova with a movement here and there from others. Every single version sounds pretty different to me; Bach is transparent like that. I should try Kremer sometime. You should've heard my teacher's performance; there were some interesting decisions made in his interpretations.

My teacher at U of M (I guess I have multiple) held a concert consisting of playing through all six sonatas and partitas a month ago. It was okay, but definitely made worse due to the sheer length. Yeah, I need to get on recording some Bach.
