  1. The Soft Bulletin vinyl reissue. Think this will be my first serious crack at a needledrop.
  2. Cocteau Twins -- Milk And Kisses
  3. Alsatian pizza, Puff pastry crust, slivered ham, caramelized onions and gruyere. Yeah, we're piling it on before the customary austere January at our house.
  4. Wish you hadn't posted that. I'm never going to be able to unthink that that's probably pretty much his O face.
  5. Don't mind them incorporated into dishes, just don't like the disassembly aspect of whole lobsters and crabs.
  6. The Flaming Lips -- Embryonic The colored vinyl. A very kind present that arrived today.
  7. Yeah, it's pretty funny. One of them will advertise some piece they carry, say a tonearm, on Audiogon and the other will immediately list whatever they have that is the direct competition at the price point. So the ads almost always appear right after each other. Not sure who is dogging who, but Jay at AR has been nothing but helpful and nice to me when I've asked him about his lines, which is definitely more than is being said here of Mr. Fail. Sorry, Feil.
  8. Anouar Brahem -- The Astounding Eyes Of Rita
  9. Hey hey! Happy Birthday! Don't blow any fuses...
  10. Dew eet. They're definitely a bargain in Sterling!
  11. Oddly enough I don't mind eating small bugs, but am not too keen on giant ones. Lobsters FTL.
  12. Four business class ATL-JNB return. Not including connecting flights. Thank God it's not my money, either.
  13. Woot woot! Don't forget to thoroughly clean your records beforehand.
  14. Does it say anywhere in the founding articles that said tweaking has to be infrequent as well as modest in scope? If not, you're probably good to go.
  15. $33,466.38 worth of airline tickets. So who wants to nip on down for a South Africa meet next year, then?
  16. Happy Birthday!
  17. No, you won't have any problem.
  18. Little bit of schadenfreude here for Wayne and any other accounting policy aficionados.
  19. The Soundsmith Denons get real spendy real fast. You start to get into some pretty nice alternatives at those price points. Soundsmith / Denon
  20. It was sunny and relatively warm (40s) this morning. Then it rained. Then it snowed quite hard for a bit, before tiring of that and throwing in some sleet. Now it's drizzling again. If you don't like the weather in New England, wait half an hour.
  21. toe -- the book about my idle plot on a vague anxiety It's toeriffic! (The kanji and katakana characters in the track names break Amarra's spirit, though.)
  22. Well, a lot of people don't even eat offal over here. I guess in a cuisine of plenty, there wasn't much incentive. I love that stuff generally, but do draw the line at brains. My French friend in DC always used to order some on toast at this little bistro where we would bunk off work on Friday afternoons. Said they're like creamy scrambled eggs.
  23. Welcome to Team Brass-In-Motion.
  24. Haven't had enough time with the 90s to rate them fairly. Of the others, I like the 800s over the 60s for comfort and soundstage and otherwise think they're in the same league. Wouldn't even consider the 6X0s again now for anything other than budgetary reasons. As far as the 800's character -- one man's sterile is another man's incisive. Good Grados are more fun, but they don't match the out-of-head experience you can enjoy with the big Senns.
