  1. For the price, that better be a fuckin' OLED touch screen in the middle there.
  2. Not sure I buy that. Apple (read Jobso) is obsessed with ease of use. Look at his crusade against physical buttons. Unless it's thought controlled and you have to train your brain not to think about naughty stuff so it doesn't keep taking you to dodgy Web sites.
  3. Used a couple of the Vinyl Engine protractors to check my setup today and found that my cart has been pretty significantly misaligned. Don't think I've used it enough to do much damage, happily. And the vinyl setup sounds quite a bit better now that it's (more or less) correct. So I'm going to chalk it up to experience. Also have the Hi-Fi News test record on order now and am going to do more work on some of the other parameters when that arrives. Still slouching toward Bethlehem...
  4. Definitely cuts in quicker now, too, when you cue up the first track of an album. No more two second silence. Small annoyance, but still nice to see it fixed. I'd like to hear some word about Amarra Vinyl -- very keen to see that.
  5. Installing the new version now. "Improved Sound Quality" is a little nonspecific as a release note.
  6. Steely Dan -- Aja 30th Anniversary Vinyl.
  7. Turntable tweaking again. I am getting better at it.* (* i.e. nothing actually broke.)
  8. I have a similar program for the indoor rower and it's pretty cool. It's also seen pretty much no use in the last year or so.

    Oh snap! Congratulations?
  10. Boards Of Canada -- The Campfire Headphase
  11. It gets better. "Let all the poisons that lurk in the mud hatch out!"
  12. I ear you wanna stay dynamic anyway.
  13. Buy them some headphones. Everybody likes headphones.
  14. Sorry Colin.

It will work with AT&T but will not have access to their 3G network, because that's on a different band that its radio doesn't support. Suspect that's a nonstarter for most people. The only thing I covet is the N wireless. EDIT: Penger > Stretch.
  16. So, you're why Craig can't finish the damn phono stage!
  17. Windex and a paper towel work wonders.
  18. Yeah, we could use someone even more fiscally fucked than California!
  19. Pinocchio loaded up fine, and is playing fine. If it's just this title that's a problem, then I think you have a dodgy disc. If it's other Disney titles too, you should probably call Oppo support and see what they think. Update to the latest firmware anyway and have another go.
  20. That's weird. My BDP-83 has yet to choke on a single disc and it's recently gobbled through everything Pixar has put out plus a bunch of the latest Disney BDs -- Bolt, Sleeping Beauty etc. We have the BD of Pinocchio here but haven't tried it on that machine. I will do so right now, but I'm guessing you have a unit-specific issue as Oppo are very proactive with firmware fixes for known glitches with specific titles. BRB.
  21. The Band -- The Band AF Gold.
  22. Anouar Brahem -- The Astounding Eyes Of Rita
  23. PayPal is horrible, period. Part of their business model is the sequestering of funds on the (proven) assumption that a portion of these will simply never be reclaimed and can then fall right through to the bottom line. Do not EVER link your PP account to your primary bank account. There are many, many stories of large, random dips with repayment stonewalled right up until the initiation of legal action. If PayPal wasn't so ubiquitous in our gear trading milieu, I wouldn't touch them with a ten-foot pole.
