  1. They're those tallish, hard, see-through things behind the bar, Jim. They usually have liquid inside, unless Reks has been there before you.
  2. Send it to me and I'll be happy to verify that.
  3. Feist -- The Reminder
  4. Any hints on what cost-no-object might actually cost, roughly?
  5. Dexter Underfoot. He's a good friend.
  6. John Marks really liked the Nova in the latest issue of Stereophile. Said it drove his Aerial 5Bs well (and they are just 85dB and 4 Ohms nominal) and the DAC section was excellent. One interesting tidbit, he tried very hard to spot the difference between S/PDIF input from a nice Luxman transport and USB input from his PC and could not do so.
  7. So, now what are you going to buy with all that money you just saved?
  8. He's a bit of a twit, but probably no more so than most career audiophiles. TAS's ethical practices are by repute extremely shady though, even by the low standards of the hi-fi industry.
  9. I might have heard that. Not that keen on The Hazards Of Love so far. Feels a bit forced. But their stuff tends to grow on me. Donald Fagen -- The Nightfly
  10. This is good news. I should find some in my mailbox quite soon.
  11. The A5s are fine. Find a more rewarding outlet for the upgraditis, would be my advice.
  12. I've never been to Me. Although I hear that kinda smells, anyway, and the native is really unfriendly.
  13. I met my wife there. Alpenglow and Obstler was the end of me.
  14. The Decemberists -- The Crane Wife
  15. Cowboy Junkies -- The Caution Horses
  16. You've just moved on to bikes. I bet carbon fiber road frames give you a solid chubby.
  17. Just get a dozen Noise Harvesters and let them eat all your tasty power impurities. Om nom nom nom. You can tell they work precisely as advertised because when you plug them into an electrical socket they light up, see?
  18. Either way, I perceive it as a pleasant tonal richness, so it's all good.
  19. Who knows, I may now have yours.
  20. Cowboy Junkies -- Trinity Revisted 24/96 needledrop
  21. If there was a Mac netbook, it would only run on organic Quinoa.
  22. Nice one, Nate! It is so great to see some summer.
  23. Must admit I like the "it just works" aspect of both iTunes and the QB-9. Plug it into a spare USB port, select in Audio Midi, open iTunes and you're done, for good. I haven't had a single hiccup in a couple of months. Click play, get great sound. Know we're all tweakers to some extent around here, but that simplicity and transparency have got to be worth plenty to most normal folks.
