  1. Anytime! Wife got home from her business trip and is wrangling kids, so relaxing a bit here. Little Craig and Tim have been playing very nicely together. And I just cracked a new bottle of that orange stuff.
  2. Clench. Unclench. Clench. Clench. Unclench.
  3. It's funny. I am PC Audio all the way on the sound side. But I still like my physical media for video. HTPCs are still way, way too fiddly for me and -- as a finicky viewer -- downloads involve too many resolution/compression compromises at this point and probably will for a while yet. An it-just-works Mac solution might see me drifting to the dark side, though.
  4. Preliminary conclusion: HD800 enjoy considerable synergy with HP4.
  5. Crowded House -- Time On Earth
  6. Introduced these two. I do hope they'll get on!
  7. One more for the grist mill. PLAYBACK 22: Sennheiser HD 800 Headphones | AVguide He thought they weren't aggressive and were sucked out in the upper mids. Definitely hears them differently from most.
  8. My neighbors Jeff and Steve get their 5 seconds of fame on the news. Violent storms roll through New England | NECN
  9. New definition of overkill!
  10. Well, Kris's forum sig is "If it's not in HD, I'm not buying it." So he's probably something of an outlier.
  11. Very good write up of the OPPO in Home Theater mag this week by Kris Deering, who is one of the handful of reviewers worth listening to on the video side. Home Theater: OPPO BDP-83 Universal Blu-ray Player
  12. That one's mine. Sexton rawks. And, of course, he got his start busking in Harvard Square. EDIT: So suck it, Ken!
  13. Shane MacGowan and the Popes -- The Snake
  14. Isn't it? Feel obliged to point out they were Massholes. Holyoke/Northampton represent!
  15. Thanks guys. We were very lucky. It was a strong microburst, but didn't make it into a tornado. If it had, given that it went straight down our street ... We have a couple of trees down, my neighbor's gazebo was blown away taking his back deck with it and all the houses are absolutely plastered with shredded leaves, which I imagine will take power washing to remove. Could have been a lot worse, though I think we got hit the hardest in our area as all the local news trucks are setting up down the street. Some more pictures attached.
  16. Fake Steve was pretty good on this today. I'm glad he's back, with the new organs and all.
  17. Just watched a very short, very powerful thunderstorm buzz-saw my yard to pieces with grapeshot hail. This has been a great summer so far. Front. Formerly nice, clean pool. Pool deck. EDIT: THis just came in after the fact. Guess where I live?
  18. You actually Googled "H.R. Giger dicks"? I would not have dared.
  19. $10 says we're shortly going to start hearing from Microsoft again about those alleged patent violations in the Linux kernel.
  20. Lloyd Cole -- Love Story Marvelous.
  21. Well, if nothing else, I'm glad this little contretemps has drawn you out of hiding. You seem like good people.
  22. How much did you have to pay her?
  23. The Lemonheads -- It's A Shame About Ray
