  1. Got Scotch in the cupboard older than you, but that's 40 in Stax years I guess.
  2. 142 proof. Boom, headshot.
  3. No shipping, no contact at all. Was starting to think this was the great Case case robbery of '09.

They need to be, considering what the drink actually tastes like!
  6. It's a beaut!

So, in answer to my question about finding the HC assembly point, am I to understand I'm now looking for a bunch of questionably muscular, shirtless men with bushy mustaches?
  8. Woo hoo! I'm nearly 40 and I still have those occasional anxiety dreams where you're supposed to be taking finals and you can't find the right room. Or you realize you signed up for a completely different class than the paper you've just been handed.

If you take your shirt off, he'll give you his room number too.

Will be getting in mid-afternoon. Is there a designated assembly point for the HC contingent? I imagine the hotel might well have several bars.
  12. That would be very convenient. My state may not be so solid for much longer.

  14. Quick (doubtless dumb) question. Why don't my per-application access settings seem to "stick"? Let's say I want iTunes to accept incoming connections -- I go into system preferences/firewall and add it to the approved list. Because I'm not routinely running as an administrator, it will ask me to authenticate before making the change. Fine. But then, every time I restart iTunes it will still prompt me to approve an incoming connection and require me to authenticate yet again. This is tiresome. What am I missing?

  18. Also milspec math > civilian math.
  19. Clearly a complete coincidence! Don't be hating. Also, if it is 30% thinner will that mean it needs 30% less burn-in?
  20. Glad you guys kissed and made up. Group hug!
  21. Belouis Some -- Some People Ah, memories! Long-overdue CD reissue.
  22. Probably just go by the postmark? But I think it's silly to open yourself up to that sort of quibbling in the first place. If you are prepared to warrant the piece for the extended period, then do so from the outset and have done with it. By the way, it still sounds very good. The only functional downside is I now do a lot more rate switching in Audio Midi. With the Duet, I just let iTunes upsample everything to 96kHz as I didn't feel I could hear any difference. With the Ayre, I definitely prefer CD playback at 44.1kHz. Will someone please write a native-sample-rate plugin for iTunes? Pretty please?
