The instructor of course had tits out to here and was a pretty decent stand-up (sit down?) comic to boot. It's all completely ridiculous, but this is America I guess and are you not entertained?

  11. It's under a salad spinner -- was probably about three inches long. I almost stepped on the bugger while stumbling to the kitchen for my morning coffee. Woke me up fast anyway. Later, went for a kayak on San Rafael Bay with the kids. As we were coming back into the creek, we passed a scraggly and -- as far as I could see -- naked dude furiously paddling a kids' inflatable boat backwards against the current. As one does.

  16. Three meat brunch. I ignored the collards. Pulled pork was good. Vinegary not sweet. Brisket was tender but had a boiled consistency. Meh. Smoked chicken flat out sucks. Rubbery skin and feels undercooked in the mouth even when it's done. Bleah.

  21. Nice! I went the other way around tonight. Ribeyes at 265 degrees indirect on the grill until they hit 115 internally, then seared in a very hot skillet. Came out medium rare with a nice thick crust. Sorry no internal pix, I was hungry ...

  23. A further palate cleanser I came across recently, which instantly joined the Grail List. F.P. Journe Octa Calendrier in platinum with a black mother of pearl dial. They only made a dozen or so. The way it catches the light!
