I'd say that in the past 24 hours I've dropped about $500 on parts and enclosures for various projects, not a dime of which is for the Simple SE.

It's ok Reks, I red carded him.- Relative Importance of Power Cable/Power Conditioner?
Yup, and often times with stuff like a Tivo or anything connected to a phone line if you don't have the phone line running through protection you can get zapped that way too. I've seen first hand a Tivo taken out by a surge through the phone line, wasn't pretty- Singlepower Square Wave w/ DAC internal pics
Could someone seriously not figure out how to desolder the jack so they just tore it apart and left the internals soldered to the board?- Electrocompaniet ECD-1 v. Northstar M192 (both unmodded)
yeah, I confused my northstar owners.- Electrocompaniet ECD-1 v. Northstar M192 (both unmodded)
I'm the opposite of deepak, no experience with the Northstar but I got the opportunity to audition an ECD-1 once at a mini meet at my house. It remains one of my favorite listening experiences. Also Salt Peanuts here used to own one (the one I heard, ironically enough) and I think he kicks himself for selling it quite often.- Graduation Day - The Tubelab Simple SE project begins...
Thanks, I'll search around and see if I can find some information on those manuals, it's the first I've heard of them.- What did you do today?
Just 3, with the 4th part way done as well. The 3rd is a fun little design challenge that I cooked up, more details as I get stuff done. I swear, one day I'll keep one of them.- What did you do today?

No worries, I can't find it either but I know there was some information posted at some point. I have several questions/concerns about the design of that thing and the chassis that they have it shoe horned into. At first blush it's pretty similar to the Menace but with double the output tubes which means that they've got a lot of heat to deal with in a really small space. As it is just the heaters for the output tubes are dissipating 60W. And if they were trying to get the specs similar to Pete's HA-2 there's a ton of heat generated by the cathode resistors and I don't see anything near big enough to deal with that. Hell, on the Menace I had to use 50W power resistors and external heatsinks to keep things in line. - Electrocompaniet ECD-1 v. Northstar M192 (both unmodded)
