On the plus side you probably have control over thrice given his association with rockhoppers, that has to count for something. Come on, make thrice do something funnay.

How far North? I've been up to Limestone a few times, I think that officially qualifies as northern Maine.

Just bought a case of BUZZ cola and some Krusty O's.

New Portable USB DAC/Amp to preview at Maryland Meet
n_maher replied to justin's topic in Product Annoucements
I think it would have brought the funny big time if he'd posted the specs like this: PCM2707 performs USB to I2S conversion to simulate the use of red nail polish! -
Greenlee 15/16" knockout punch. Going to be making a lot of holes for Neutrik XLRs and this should make things go much more quickly and smoothly.

When do you consider an amp "high end"

Would that be as a theft deterrent? -

As far as I know only under meet conditions, which are dubious at best. If you want a technical comparison I believe that amb has all the data posted on his site. -
I haven't been struck lately by the urge to flush a C note (or two) down the toilet.

I still yearn for someone to take apart the ipod connector on one of ALO's cables so that I can see how he attaches 12ga wire (or whatever) to a 30ga pin.

Check that you don't have the ribbon flipped 180 deg, some have a locater pin, some don't and I've actually done this before. Otherwise it just becomes a list of the simple things that can go wrong, no power to the drive, incorrect jumper settings, ect. Is the bios seeing the drive? That also might tell you a lot.

Two Joshua Tree Single Ended Attenuator Kits and Trafos Looks like my balanced beta project just got a volume control.

If they cost $100 I'd think they were alright but they're around $250, which puts them in a league where they should be preforming far better than they do.

The Ultrasone's that I had (the semi-famous pair of HiFi 700's signed by Florian) had the deepest, most impactful bass of any headphone I've heard under $1000. That said the rest of their frequency response was pretty awful so they were great for movies but that was about it.

It's in the early stages as far as we've been told, even the prototype that Justin showed at the meet didn't have a case. But from the pics on the "other site" it looks like a pretty genius piece of design. I love the stacked boards.

Any impressions of the balanced beta22? Future builders need to know.

I have not found that particular method to have any effect on the level of crazy. In fact, I'd say it made her more crazy...

Yeah, there's some scary craftsmanship going on there.

About 80% of the parts I need for my 6 channel balanced beta22. +

I've got parts from the following on the way: Markertek PartsExpress Mouser Must be up to no good...

Pffff, why would I want a DAC tested by real people, in a real system. I prefer DAC robots operating in the 4th dimension. If he weren't so funny he might get no my nerves.

Very cool sounding design, Justin! Wish I was going to be able to attend the meet as originally planned, I would have loved to give it a listen.
