  1. Looks good. I recommend the aosp lean kernel too if possible. The vzw version by notta was updated to 4.1 beta today.

Definitely watch the British version as well.
  3. Do not update to stock 4.3 OTA if at all possible on Verizon at least. They have added KNOX trusted boot protection which will relock the boot loader and you will lose access to custom software like ROMs and kernels. PA is back to being mostly AOSP for the time being and they are rewriting and optimizing everything for Kit Kat. For the S3, it's on the second revision of beta 6. Expect PIE controls could be added back in in the next release. It's very stable and smooth right now, but lean kernel is a must for decent battery life. I'm getting updates for it about once a week currently.
  4. A lot of mk2 upgrade boards may be up for sale used soon if this upgrade is like the last and people can afford it... The upgrade replaces all three boards and the transformer inside, so unfortunately it's the majority of what's in the PWD itself. All that remains is the chassis and the front panel display. It will cost $2995. Notice they are using transformer coupled outputs now... reminds me of the Neko DAC. Somebody looking for a new DAC may want to consider buying those leftover parts for cheap and sticking them in an enclosure itself with an aftermarket LCD. Cheap PWD DAC. Video is posted. 18 mins... and seems like there is a part 2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=B7z7QXWto-k
  5. Subscribed to the Perfectwave DAC upgrade program. Funny though how they are releasing a third revision to this DAC and still haven't delivered on streaming support properly via the bridge that was the DAC's major selling point at one time. Wavestream software is still in a private alpha stage and has been for years AFAIK.
  6. I like that second build enclosure a lot.
  7. Where is there to go in Durham from Duke that you can't walk to?
  8. I'm safe at home with wood for the furnace, plenty of food and bottled water, a large beer cellar and water in a cooler for the rest. Expecting up to ten inches of snow and half inch of ice. I'll still be online without wall power as long as I don't try to go down the drive.
  9. How Raleigh, NC handles 2.5" of snow....

  11. Happy birthday du* de. Hope it was great enough that you didn't need hiccup confirmation!
  12. I'm on Verizon Nate, wasn't really that bad at all. If you still use an S3, now might be a good time to start thinking about rooting and unlocking to allow it to keep up with the future phones. Here is a toolkit that will work on all 14 major variants of the Galaxy S3. On windows, it will install drivers, root, help you unlock, install recovery, and much more. All you have to do is enable USB debugging in the developer's menu of the phone (Go to phone info and tap the build info until it says "you are now a developer" to access it). Probably a good idea to allow unknown apps to run as well. www.skipsoft.net/?wpdmdl=18 EZ unlock will unlock the bootloader with one click once you are rooted: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/32456-app-920-ez-unlock-14-easiest-way-to-unlock-your-bootloader/ EZ recovery will let you update your recovery easily: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mmmeff.ez&hl=en Here are the latest clockworkmod recoveries: http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager First thing I would do after rooting and flashing a recovery is to make a backup (preferably to sdcard1). If you want to flash a ROM, I recommend paranoid android. I posted instructions in post #631 above. XDA-developers has a forum for each carrier and phone that is usually very active. They have the best info if you need something. Hopefully that is all you will need.
  13. Why don't any of these audio streaming apps ever make an effort to support WASAPI? Microsoft made it specifically to have a higher quality audio output and built it into the OS. I just don't understand.
  14. You can flash different cameras if you're rooted.
  15. That looks pretty cool. What is it?
  16. ES File Explorer is free and ad-free and is doing an excellent job of streaming all my music and video from Windows shares. In case someone doesn't have a NAS, but has their PC on all the time anyway (like me).
