The hard drive will work with any normal controller usually, but not just any hard drive may work with the USB HD controller chipset in certain brands made with a specific hard drive.

You could always use two programs and set the output device, but they won't be synced or even likely to sound exactly the same if they were. Yep. Different programs sound differently to my ears for sure.

The only audible difference that I noticed was that it had less digital errors while ripping. I use EAC for my own security of mind now. There are a lot of great guides online on how to properly configure EAC for your CD drive.

I've used it for a while. It was good. EAC is better.
