I am in the market for a Drobo then came across this NAS: LG 2TB Network Attached Storage with DVD Re-Writer : Storage, Drives & Media | Dell Any reason why I would go Drobo over this? I can get a Drobo 4 bay for about $330 without drives or possibly buy the one Jim is selling. I do see where it has only 2 bays. I was planning on going with 4 1 TB drives in the Drobo so I would need to add a 2 TB drive to this NAS.

I think I may give one of these a try in my office. Now that I have DSL, I finally connected my Airport Extreme. I was able to carry the signal a couple of houses away while walking the dogs this morning. I may not need the Airport Express to extend the network to the backyard which is good as I can't get my computer to find it.

With 4 tv's all with dvr's and HD, it's about $200/month + whatever they charge for cable internet. I have HBO/Cinemax with Comcast and now I will have all the premium stations and NFL Ticket. I do not need the NFL ticket but with the current promotion, it comes out to a better deal. Plus, I save about $100/month for the first 5 months of service.

Direct TV claims that the satellite does not go out when it rains, like it used to when I had it, more than 7 years ago. I've never been happy with the picture quality of cable in HD. I'm hoping DTV is better. I also hope that my dsl is not significantly slower than cable internet. My neighborhood is fiber optic, which was a big deal at the time but now, because of that, I can't get the fastest dsl att has available. I am told they are working on upgrades that will change that but it's been the same story for a year or two.

Switching from Comcast to Direct TV, saving about $50/month. Switching Comcast internet to ATT dsl, saving maybe $10/month.

I can't complain much after seeing those flood pIcs but came home after a night at my in laws waiting for the a/c people to arrive to find my cable tv out and they won't be able to send someone out until tomorrow. At least I have some free time to compare Direct TV and Dish Network.

I took my monitor out of my music rig and use the iPad as the screen when needed.

I have the Lumix ZS7 and it takes excellent pics and video. I second Nates comment as you are looking for something thatnwill capture the moment. Far more likely that you will have a good point and shoot than a DSLR when many of these moments take place

I bought it before it was pulled. I don't really need it since I have a 3G iPad but if I ever need to tether my MB Pro, it may come in handy.

Billy, I'm curious which cases you have tried. I've tried about 5 between my phone, my son's and my wife' phones, each case has eliminated the problem.
