I do not use the 3G much but so far, the battery has not been an issue. I have to use it a lot, with video (wifi) to get it to drop by the end of the night to say 30%.

I just ordered the Tom Bihn Ristretto (none iPad version). It's available now, 2.5" taller and wider, which maybe a better option than the iPad version. Dinny gave me the idea. I got it in black/steel. They have a 60 return policy.

It doesn't, I'm pretty certain. It may automatically renew your 250MB plan, you may want to check, if you are concerned. I just don't think it will automatically upgrade you to the unlimited.

My usage is at 138 MB with very light usage. I have 17 days left and 112 MB so it will be close if I go over. If this trend continues, assuming I stay with ATT, I will continue to by the $15 data plan and tether for the remainder of the month.

I just got off the phone with ATT to find out my options in terms of buy out and the dates my contract with them ends for each of 5 lines. My contract is up 6/11 but would cost $125 for the buy out, which is not too bad. I am eligible for a full iphone upgrade on 6/28 as I thought from checking online. It will cost me $125 to buy out of the remaining 4 lines if I wait for 8/10, when three of the lines are out of contract. I checked due to the Verizon rumors figuring there may be some deals to take advantage of if the iphone is offered. The person I spoke to did not offer me anything to stay despite calling to discuss termination. I asked her about tethering and she said that her information was that ATT would make it available in June '10. I don't know if this was to entice me to remain with ATT. I guess we will see in a month or so. So Brent, I guess I should read up on the HTC phone you are in love with as an option.

My phone is separate from my family. My family plan has 4 lines so total of 5 lines on two accounts. I read somewhere that people who pay over $99 a month are getting earlier upgrade dates but that was a rumor.

I noticed this a few weeks ago. I bought my 3GS on the day of the launch and will be eligible for full discount upgrade on 6/28/10.

I have 46 GB remaining with 24 apps and half a season of Sons of Anarchy.

Dinny, of the more casual ones, I think I like the booq's better than the Tom Bihn. Either would work for business for me but I don't wear a tie or jacket at the office. If I recall correctly you are in a more conservative office so they may be too casual. I like my Tumi, which was a gift from my wife. She didn't get the leather because my partner told me the reason he no longer carries his is it is too heavy. I also didn't want to spend $600 plus on the bag. Once I return from my vacation, assuming I have any money left, I will order the Tom Bihn iPad case to compare with the booq.

The iPhone is limited to one carrier that has about 32% of the smartphone market compared to Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon which have 62% of the market. So Android has a larger market to sell to. I don't think that this is surprising at all.
