Jack, looks good. I'm in a similar size room and you can make it work. The trick was seeing how far I could get the speakers from the wall without turning it into nearfield listening. Experiment with the speaker positioning, it took me a while before I got it to where I thought I was getting the best sound.
Thanks everyone! Woke up, ran 6 miles, out to breakfast, saw Wanted (cool flick), chilliing with some tunes and a 60 minute, then some sushi, followed by a couple beers and a scotch at The Pub.
Beach with wife, lunch and some beers at the Mellow Mushroom, mall to buy daughter some clothes to send to college, home for a couple and then dinner. Back home, putting on a bit of a buzz listening to Bitches Brew.
I have the HR stands and believe that raising them has made a difference. Instead of being below my ears they are on level with them. I don't listen to seriously at my work desk as I'm usually doing something else but I do believe that what I do hear is better as a result of using the stands.
What a meet! It had everything, wine (beer), women, a Kum By Ya moment, a little gear, music, Rock Band, more beer, no women (I lied above) and then hours of music videos.
I had a pair of these in my system a few years back, on loan. They are sweet. I've been nervous about them due to the 8417 tube being out of production. This pair is alleged to be pretty much unused. Whether they cook or smoke the Hibachi's, we will see.
Helped set my daughters dorm room yesterday. Once I built a small rack and set up the tv, I stayed out of the way. Dinner at the Mellow Mushroom (love this place).
If anyone is Chong, it's HighLife.: )
Is this the Mean Gene Meet Machine tread? If it is, for shame as a Florida meet thread has never been so boring. Oh, wait, must be a NorCal meet thread.
Here is what I'm bringing to the meet (the one at Gene's):

ipod - 160 gb
Sleek SA6

That's a beauty. I'm looking forward to hearing reports from NorCal. Nate is it too late to cancel my 8 case quadrupled menace and switch to this? If it is too late, no problem.
The new custom title sure beats "Spammer". Thanks!
