I heard Nate's amp on Sunday just before he packed it up. As Vicki pointed out, you don't get a sense of the size of this amp until you see it in person. I'm pretty sure I tried RS-1s with the Menace. I know there was another can I tried but I don't recall. The amp is outstanding. I can't possibly go into any detail as my listening time on the Menance and all other amps I tried were pretty limited. The Menace, Eddie Current Balancing Act prototype and WA6 SE made the greatest impressions on me at the meet. I have the WA6 SE for the next two weeks. Nate and Craig wouldn't give up their amps. I never got to Voltron's Thrice built Beta 22. I heard it at the last Tampa meet and it sounds great. I wanted to check out ASRs Beta, which was pretty sweet looking.

I will check if they are available. I will try for Medeski Scofield Martin and Wood.

Why do only a drinking party when you can do that, a concert and a meet. Chicago has my vote, as long as I don't have to do anything other than show up and help drink the scotch.

I will never thow a meet of this size, that requires you to send your gear 1500 miles. I am lucky if I spent 3 hour listening total the entire weekend. I am too tired to discuss any of the impressions I have at the moment, maybe tonight. The one thing I will say is the Smyth Research surround sound technology was the highlight of the daytime hours of the meet. It is very cool technology and does truly provide surround sound as if you were listening to a 5.1 system through speakers. They had an xbox 360 in the main room. When I first started to play I found myself turning and looking behind me to see if there was a speaker there. No matter how many times I looked there was no speaker. In the Smyth Research room they had a cool demo set up. First they put some type of smail IEM in your ears, and then put the Stax headphone over your ears. They play sounds through each channel instructing you to turn to look at the center speaker, then right, then left (I'm probably combining steps). Once that is done, the demo begins. First is with music, then a movie. The headphones have a small transmitter on the top of the headphones. As you turn your head in between the two front speakers (if you go beyond either speaker, the sound cuts out, which is the way it is supposed to work), the orientation of each speaker (front, back and center) holds which wouldn't happen if listening to speakers. The demo is setup so that if you take the headphones off and point the transmitter at a 45 degree angle it goes to speakers so you can a/b the two systems. I'm not sure you need the speakers unless you are listening with others. It is that good. A huge thanks to Vicki, Gene, Matt, Jp, and Dom for all your help over the last 7 or 8 months and at the meet.

There is also a ball python, 5 more geckos and a bearded dragon.

Boxes, what boxes are you talkng about. I don't have anything to bring to the hotel. I have a ton of new gear in my rig now but I don't plan on bringing all of it.

I've heard the Emitters, it is a nice sounding amp. I have the mini basis phono which I like a lot. At $140,000 those speakers better give memore than an eargasm.

Excellent question! Nate, do we get a choice of the type of wood that you will use on the amp to give it the Wheatfield look? I would like a light wood, like a birch to go with my speakers. I want the video option.

See the problem you have is that Gene will want one and if that's the case, you really ought to just start ordering the parts. He's a scary man. In some circles, he's known as the white beard ninja. That's funny, I didn't even look at the poll when I typed my post. Thanks for pointing out my lack of attention to detail. I wish I could use alcohol as an excuse but I'm not finished with my first drink yet. Where is the stupid emoticon when you need it. I'll wait for your next post when you point it out to me. Wow, where was that? What kind of speakers? It looks like they are using ASR Emitter II integrateds.

Nate, that amp looks sweet. The menace should get a lot of attention at CanJam. Just remember, when it goes into full prodcution, I want a low serial number.
