  1. While emphasis is good on said statement, I might have avoided using that particular emphasis. Generates images that I am fairly sure should never be generated.
  2. Yeah, I would love to see the charge time on that circuit. Might still make the noise, after about a month of being powered on.
  3. Congrats Dinny, and Nate, glad to hear the bolts in your knee were not a problem for the MRI.
  4. WOOT, Consecration!
  5. Does anyone else wonder why they have an A type USB connector? Seems fairly odd to me.
  6. I am sure visitation could be arranged.
  7. You dont really expect the unwashed masses to know how to use a k1000 properly, do you?
  8. Happy birthday Nate, hope you get a pain-free knee!
  9. My modded Adcom GDA600 measures 1.91V each channel.
  10. Nice, looks like a good time was had. Of course, with Al organizing, that is almost a given.
  11. The worst part was actually digging all of the old glue out.
  12. They sure do, usually seems the HE60s I have seen have fairly ratty pads on them. Also, is that just the stock cable reterminated?
  13. For anyone who may care, here is the E.90 bias supply, front three components. Not visible is that the long leg of the resistor on the left and the right leg on the cap both go to the ground trace on the bottom of the board, while the long leg of the middle resistor goes to B+, which measured at around 612v.
  14. Silly Stax and their anti gray market stance really likes to make things difficult to convert the voltage on their newer amps it seems. This is Screaming Oranges's SRM-007ta, which was originally for japanese market 100v. As you can see, they actually cut the leadouts for the 120v primary windings off quite low and filled them in with hot glue, so once the jumpers on the board mounted to the side of the case are swapped, it just doesnt work at all. Gotta fix that! Success!
  15. Damn, have you been channeling Mike? 3 new 'Stats in as many months?

I really think I will just go ahead and do the second one, redoing the whole xover, plugging the top vent, and adding stuffing.
  17. No, SRM-1mk2. Still waiting on a few bits for my exstata.

The mods were only posted yesterday by Zaph.
  19. The way the SRD7 generates it's bias supply is quite hacky, and only really works because there is absolutely no load at all on the multiplier to drag it down. Nothing bit a very small amount of capacitance to ground. In comparison, 10Mohm is huge. I imagine the SB is even worse about this.
  20. I do not have a variable bias supply yet, though adding a 5M inline resistor to my stax adapter did nothing for the noise running off pro bias.

Yup, should look just like this one.
  22. Same, in cherry.

I went for the cherry. Part of this is preference, and part of this is because it seems the oak has a bit different xover and a few other minor differences than the ones John modded.

Unisound AU265 speakers. These are a factory buyout which seem to be very well built for the price, thick MDF cabinets with significant internal bracing weighing about 60lbs each and pretty decent drivers, but a fairly crappy xover. Fortunately, it has attracted the attention of the DIY crowd, most notably John Krutke, and the xover has been redesigned with some fairly simple mods which make it much, much more attractive. $150 shipped to your door (MSRP was about $1250 I believe).
