  1. Happy birthday Jeff! Super Bowl is today?
  2. What, you dont always wear a grounding bracelet?
  3. Nothing here in Boston, so perfect timing on that trip.
  4. I have used all three, all were quite good. For more general screws I need in larger quantity, I often go ebay. As for the other issue, if it is really bad you could fill the hole with epoxy, drill slightly small, then tap.
  5. They dont replace the cups though, so you wouldnt get the same effect. No idea what a custom metal cup would run, might not be too bad in the quantities they would be looking at. At that point though, why bother with using any grado stuff? If you can make a SR325 sound like a completely different and better headphone, what possible reason would you want to keep the grado design?
  6. Woot Ari! I presume this means no T1 then?
  7. Didnt actually use my car for the drive, flew into Montgomery, AL Sunday and drove my grandmother's buick. Wish I had my car. Did get into a bit of snow in VA on Tuesday, but not too bad before we pulled off for the night.
  8. I said pretty much. K1000 are one of the exceptions.
  9. Indeed it is, like 1200 miles. Most I have ever driven, by quite a ways. All in an unfamiliar car, to boot.
  10. I guess it is time to point out that pretty much all good headphones are already terminated to 5 pin plugs.
  11. Made it in today. Day 1 was Montgomery, AL to Cleveland, TN, and I hung out with Brent for a few hours in Chattanooga, then on to Harrisonburg, VA, and today made it all the way into Reading, MA. Glad that drive is done.
  12. Flew into Montgomery, AL, and hung with the grandparents.
  13. I think we can probably agree that proper replacement of old electrolytic caps=good, dumbass modders=bad.
  14. Which Adcom? I have schematics for the GDA600 and GCD750. Neither have any UA dejitter thingie though.
  15. I think there is some standard, IEC or something, which specifies a 5 pin xlr for balanced headphones. It does make a good deal of sense.
  16. Ouch. Might make the drive north very interesting, hope not.
  17. Yup, spent 45 minutes shoveling the drive today, 6-8" but it was a nice, light powder.
  18. Freedom Trail looks cool, something I definitely will try and see. The North End seems to be a little italy, so that looks promising too. Beer is always good. Hmm, if it is just comics and vinyl, my money should be OK, but could still be fun to check out. I love seafood, ditto for chinese. Not so much into art museums, too much of an uncultured heathen.
  19. That was since Canjam, where they were a 4ohm diaphragm with no traces on it and 12ohm series resistor. Since that point, I believe that the only changed made have been the heatshrink on the cable and the fix for the wood cracking.
  20. It's very nice. On top of that, February will be my first month back on good driver status for insurance, which will cut that bill roughly in half.
  21. My car. Made the last payment yesterday.
  22. Didn't you do some sort of mod to your LCD1?
  23. I would at least take a look at the caps in the amps, just considering that they havnt been stored in a controlled environment. Guess you really don't have to worry about freezing temps though. Recapping 'lytics of that age is never a bad idea anyways.
  24. I find it interesting that so many find this bright. Granted, I havn't really listened with a pair other than mine, or with the EF5 or most of the other amps people use, but that just hasnt been an issue at all.
  25. Food is good. Generally I like to wander the city, but I fear it will be too cold to do much of that next week. Havn't really traveled anywhere in the winter, besides Cuernavaca, which doesn't count. Guess I really don't know.
