  1. I actually streamed it off Lala before buying, liked it pretty well, and I had a gift card laying around which knocked the price down to under two bucks.
  2. Called MoCo for an update, was told that they have already hired everyone for the April academy, and that the next one was going to be in Jan 2011. They also said that my application is probably still with the captain. Ah well, bad time to be going for this type of job.
  3. But he doesnt have a Harbor Freight meter. You are right, you dont want DC offset to be off much, but on any half decent meter, I kind of doubt that would be too much of an issue.
  4. I would be surprised and worried if your meters were so far off as to be unsuitable for that sort of work without calibration. Probably to the point where I wouldnt be looking at calibration, because I would be worried that something has blown in the meter itself.
  5. What are you doing that actually requires calibration? I would think for most DIY work, all that you really would need is repeatable results, as opposed to absolute values being exactly on.
  6. So what are you saying, that burn in is extremely helpful here?

I wouldnt say better than The Divine Conspiracy or Consign to Oblivion, but definitely my favorite album of 2009. Was expecting Katatonia's Night is the New Day to be up there, but that one I found quite disappointing.
  8. Regular tickets to Arch Enemy on 1/20. Gonna be a good week.
  9. VIP tickets to see Epica on 1/26. Can't wait.
  10. Good stuff Dusty! Especially love the instruments on the first one.
  11. I am having trouble thinking what would be beneficial to be laser trimmed in a finished product, let alone how you would go about doing it or determining what values would be most ideal. Sure, laser trimming is extremely useful when building a component, especially in ICs, but are you really going to do something like buy a prebuilt DAC, remove the top of the chips, and trim the ladders for greater precision? At that level of reverse engineering, just build your own gear.
  12. Happy birthday Reks!
  13. Excellent Mike!
  14. I wonder how hard it would be to DC couple the output. Probably not very, at least with a servo.
  15. Cool, how are the modded t40rp?

Bit late, but I got these for my dad, and they have a bad tendency to split when assembling them, even using a manual screwdriver. Wood is probably too thin and not the best quality, and the holes are not drilled in the right places.
  17. Tried the new local sushi restaurant for lunch. Pretty good.
  18. Mmm, beef. So Matt, I presume your new K701 is a fairly high S/N? I know I just hated my low S/N, been tempted to try one again at some point, but havnt quite cared enough to yet.

Britt's donuts were far better than KK.
  20. Oh indeed.
  21. Good stuff, need more metal with female vocals+bagpipes.
  22. For you, my good sir: shit I dunno, I have never met a K340 I cared for. Now, the K1000 on the other hand...
  23. Shovel snow.
