  1. Take care mate, I would skip that trip. Take your pills and have good rest. Get well soon.
  2. Yep, it's a brightness in the midrange, which I attribute to the kevlar midwoofers for being present in most B&W speakers, and also a metallic tint somewhere higher in the treble. You need to listen carefully to voices you know very well, and also some wind instruments to be fully aware of what's going on. Then there's the bass, which is a bit "boxy" though quite tout for bass reflex speakers. Overall good speakers and for the price, I suppose a good alternative to Wilson Sophias/Watt Puppies and many other high priced big boxes pretending sound big and forceful.
  3. LOL I guess you were under the influence of spirits. Though impressive (very much indeed if played loud) those speakers can become very fatiguing on the long run. I needed 3 listening sessions at an audio shop here to realize they weren't my cup of tea. However big speakers sound... well, "big", which is good at times.
  4. Mmm you seem to be an expert on that I think I wouldn't mess with the sack and strings I suppose you know how they castrate swines...
  5. Hahaha, and it's not me in HF
  6. Has anyone seen pics to know how "complex" was the "lacing"?

  8. That's starting to get me impatient to receive my HF-2. Still a few weeks away
  9. Really? Wow, that's going to be interesting, very interesting. Mostly for I haven't ever listened to any vintage RS-1. I don't dig the newer versions.
  10. Thanks mate. I tried to arrange things to attend, but May is a bad month here at work. There are a lot of medical courses and congresses which my colleagues want to attend too, so unless there's a "good reason" to get a few free days... Maybe next year, I'd love to meet you all and being able to try some pieces of gear. Let me know whenever you come this side of the pond
  11. For world music I'd recommend the Bebo Vald
  12. Got it. The plugin can be found here You need Foobar2000 0.9.6.2 or higher installed. Once installed you need to go to preferences>Tools>Audioscrobbler to type your Lastfm username and password to get Foobar sending the statistics. I'm now using it, but I don't know if it's sending anything up there. The good part is that you can disable it very easily by just removing a tick. EDIT: I've checked it and it's working flawlessly, now Lastfm knows I'm listening to Melody Gardot
  13. Oh thanks, I'll look for it myself and post results if I find anything
  14. I just joined, but since I'm using Foobar in the computer, I don't think this works.
  15. I'd swear that TT is running a tad bit slow
  16. Haydn: The Creation - Karajan, BPO...
  17. Have a great day
  18. Congratulations and sorry hahahaha. Good luck spotting what's wrong on those two not properly working boards.
  19. Big hugs Doug, I'm very sorry for your loss. You won't ever overcome it, but you'll learn to live with it. Take care.
  20. Happy Birthday
  21. Very true, but hopefully there's still some time to go until these appear on the used market, and an order number isn't the same as a serial number. Anyway, I agree it's better not having those data available on a google search.
  22. Didn't think of it in those terms. I highly doubt they can get our real full names and addresses matching the order number.
  23. Yes indeed. The drum kit solo on Take Five is killer Another one which despite being an audiophile label disc has great music and playing in it: I have the CD version. If the SACD sounds as good or even better, terrific disc to demo how natural reverb and instrument position sounds like.
  24. For well recorded jazz and good music too, I'd recommend: That 20bitK2 version is especially good. You have 5 to choose from, I like especially #3, but all them are good. For wonderful music, great vocals and decent ambiance sound: Eva Cassidy - Live at the Blues Alley For classical with huge dynamic swings and full of timbral textures, plus great music: And to close the suggestions, a very well recorded disc, full of instruments, and with great music too:
  25. Sorry to read that Doug. Good luck with your exams outcome, though. Take care
