  1. Sounds good
  2. Happy extra late bday buddy
  3. Perfect timing! I was going to build the old version. Anybody gonna do a run of boards? I'm in if so.
  4. Yep, for $4500 I don't think we're gonna find anything as attractive overseas.
  5. I am definitely in. Nice score Andy.
  6. Oh wtf. You said you listened to the "magic box" in the chatroom just now so that's why I told you I'd never heard of it. I've tried the Smyth Realiser out and it is definitely one of the coolest things I've ever listened to. I was very, very impressed with it at CanJam 2 years back. I know blubliss has it so maybe he can chime in with whether he likes it or not. I'm definitely interested in getting one sometime down the line but I think I'd rather wait for the cheaper digital version.

    DIYT2 I believe
  8. I think waiting for Todd sounds like a good idea. I doubt elusivedisc or needledoctor will sell out of them if we wait a week or so. Most interest in this headphone at launch seems to be overseas. During that time there should also be more options to buy from in Japan. Since PriceJapan is, to my knowledge, similar to kuboten/rinkya/abidko with regards to stores, it is no wonder they don't do group buys as that'd make no sense. They don't actually have the items themselves from what I understand. What I did was track down one of the places they use to directly buy Stax gear for people from and then sell with commission. http://joshinweb.jp/audio/5348/4996476000674.html Price is about $4300 and that should be buying direct. If they speak English and are willing to ship to the US I'm sure they'd consider a group buy which should give us a pretty terrific price if so.
  9. n3rdling, blubliss, voltron, screaming oranges, monsieurguzel, wmcmanus, and EphemeralHope (a local over here) by my count.
  10. Hmm I was told they're paying 135,000 Baht per headphone. Using google's converter that comes out to a little over $4450.
  11. I am also interested in a group buy if we can get some significant savings. Overseas is probably the only way to go though.
  12. Birgir or somebody can correct me if wrong, but I think Stax sticks to their original MSRPs for years. Unless you meant wait for the Yen to drop or something else.

Anybody want first dibs on mine before I list it on the other site? Pretty minty.
  14. happy happy birthday birthday
  15. Oh cool. I had a little hope that they'd be releasing a more affordable headphone using the SR009 technology and call it the SR008. Kinda like Ultrasone did with the Ed9 and Ed8 except these would be good.
  16. purrin you're moving quickly! I thought you'd take a pretty long time to move up the Stax ladder and you're already getting a bhse. Nice It's not my fault...you didn't HAVE to listen yazz did you end up getting anything?
  17. A distributer is saying it'll be about $4200 USD in Thailand and 4900 EUR in Europe. There's a huge price difference there so not sure how true it is or if it's just the usual Stax being more expensive in Europe stuff. Can only hope it's closer towards the former figure. Of course it's just a rumor still.
  18. News release attached...has specs and stuff News-SR009_Es.pdf
  19. I think BHSE wait time is drastically reduced in the latest batch.
  20. Friendly reminder, please be careful while measuring RockCity. Best of luck, hope you get it all worked out!
